Victoria Beckham promises to not use animal skin and furs in her clothing line.
Victoria Beckham is now following the footsteps of big brands including Chanel and Vivienne Westwood. These brands are taking similar decisions to eschew products made from animals skin.
Victoria never used animal fur, the commitment was for clothing and accessories made from snake, lizard, tiger, and alligator skins which will they will stopping this year itself.
Beckham’s brand told WWD that “Victoria Beckham will cease the use of exotic skins in all collections as of AW19. The Victoria Beckham brand has never used fur in its clothing or accessories collections and confirmed last year that the brand will remain fur-free”
The animal rights group, PETA applauded 44-year-old fashion designer who has extensively campaigned against the use of animal skins in the fashion industry.
PETA UK’s director Elisa Allen said, “Behind every crocodile, alligator, snake, or lizard handbag or a pair of shoes is a violent death.”
“Victoria Beckham’s decision to ban exotic skins will spare countless animals immense suffering, and PETA UK calls on other luxury brands to follow her kind example,” she added.
Victoria Beckham is married to iconic English footballer David Beckham. The couple has four children, Brooklyn Beckham, Harper Seven Beckham, Romeo James Beckham, and Cruz Beckham.
