The moment you hear “travel” there is a rage of excitement that starts in our body and makes us happy automatically.
If you are one of those people who travel for work or able to afford frequent vacations then it can be rewarding for you. People who try to go out of their comfort zone actually have a lot of fun and that is a great exercise for your health as well.
But the fun to escape your everyday life and take off for some exotic location actually brings plenty of anxiety triggers. Do you actually start thinking a lot of questions like “ at what time you have to leave for the airport”? what if the flight got canceled? What if you will not be able to catch the plane on time?

CBT Technique

CBT which is called cognitive behavioral therapy technique wherein you have to deep breathe till the time you don’t calm down. The Anxiety And Depression Association Of America suggests that if you want to overcome the anxiety issues then your CBT works quite fast. It will distract your mind and will help you to deal with your anxiety.
Don’t Drink
It’s quite alluring to take a single malt shot before your flight, but then you might end up regretting it.
Alcohol is already a depressant which relaxes our nervous system and you would do anything which helps you to tranquilize yourself. But it can adversely affect you and it will escalate your anxiety more. The last thing you want if you are already anxious about flying is a personal parachute in your bag.
Make a list
“As days passed by you get more anxious and this is more anxiety-provoking than the flight itself.
But then the technique is that you have to remind yourself what is the reason behind that and why you’re getting on the plane.
“Create a list and remind yourself about all those reasons for which you are going on the trip and re-read it to convince yourself that you can do it.”
Try To Imagine

“Imagine yourself getting out of the plane and arriving at the airport. Spend your time to visualize that you successfully get through it.
Visualizing all these things will help you and quench your anxiety.
Don’t try to research
Sometimes being less informed about things is great if you have anxiety issues and probably you should not research about airplane safety is you are concerned about that.
But if you are dealing with severe anxiety issues and your doctor recommends you to do that, then you can give it a shot. Your doctors know about your level of consciousness and then advise you based on your history. You will be able to know what to expect on a plane which can be an exposure therapy.
Distract Yourself
Try to bring those things with you which helps in distracting your mind – a book, magazine, download a movie and it will be productive for you as you can just get rid of your uneasy thoughts easily.
Acceptance
Accepting your weakness is not a problem unless you delve into it and let it overpower you. Just realize that you have some anxiety issues and you will get through it but don’t let your catastrophic thoughts overwhelm you. It’s just that you recognize your flaws and you are working on it.
