The pressure to bounce back to your pre-pregnancy weight is real, especially when you are a celebrity who is constantly under the spotlight. During and after pregnancy, women go through countless changes which at times becomes too hard to accept. They deal with different issues and anxieties; the most difficult of which is losing that pregnancy fat.
While many celebrities dare to lose pregnancy weight fast for specific roles or some other reasons, many do their post-baby slim downs on their own time frame. No matter what methods are employed, losing the baby weight is sheer hard work.
Here is the list celebs post pregnancy transformation and how they fought with it like a pro.
Jessica Simpson showed off her incredible 100-pound weight loss almost six months after she and her husband Eric Johnson welcomed their third child, Birdie Mae. “6 months and 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240),” the pop star captioned a pic of herself showing off her figure in a long black dress. “My first trip away from #BIRDIEMAE. I’m emotional for many reasons, but so proud to feel like myself again.”
The “Take My Breath Away” singer credited her success to her longtime trainer, Harley Pasternak, who too shared his congratulations for Simpson’s tremendous trim-down.
While promoting her brand, Good American active-wear on her Instagram story, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star showed off her toned belly in a series of pictures posing in her room while wearing a camo crop top and matching leggings. These photos came nearly seven months after Kardashian welcomed her first child, daughter True, with her then-boyfriend and baby-daddy Tristan Thompson on April 12. Khloe reportedly took six weeks off from working out after True’s birth – as per doctor’s recommendation – then resumed working out five to six times a week, shedding 33lbs in just three months.
When Scarlett Johansson showed up on Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014 special with her svelte body, you could almost witness how fast her body bounced back after having her daughter in September. But the talented actress didn’t lose the weight by focusing on pounds lost or calories burned, rather she put all her energy into bonding with her baby and exercising in a way that made her feel healthy and strong. She said that having a baby hasn’t changed her workout schedule too much.
“It’s just about trying to find time to go to the gym,” she says, adding that she doesn’t slack off once she’s there. “I do the same fitness routine with my big muscle-man trainer. A lot of it is stability, endurance, and strength training. I like to work up a sweat. I’ve tried both yoga and pilates and all these other stuff, and I like to dabble in different things, but I always come back to a good old-fashioned athletic, full-body workout.
Singer Jennifer Hudson took matters into her own hands after welcoming her first child, David Daniel Otunga Jr. in August 2009. “I’ve been working on it. I’ve been exercising every day and trying to stay consistent,” Hudson told Ryan Seacrest at the Grammy Awards. “I get up every day and make sure I go for a walk or a jog and make sure I’m eating the right thing.”
Almost 10 months after giving birth to her third child, Rani Rose in 2018, the actress took to social media to share a video of her latest workout routine and showed off her toned post-baby body. Kate, 40, shared a clip of herself working out with dumbbell weights on Instagram. “How I give my [triceps] a good burn and how I show off my favorite leggings 360 style,” the How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days star captioned the video.
Three months after giving birth to her twins Vivienne and Knox, Angelina Jolie stepped out in a figure-flattering Atelier Versace dress at the New York City premiere of Changeling. The mother of six played it coy when asked about her exercise regimen, attributing her stunning post-baby body to chasing after her kids, nursing and finding “a good dress!”
In June 2009, the superstar revealed an amazing set of abs in front of thousands of people at a concert in Canada after 10 months of delivering her second son. So how’d she do it? After giving birth, the mother-of-two got busy at the gym four days a week with trainer Mike Heatlie. “I’ve tried yoga and Pilates before, but I just prefer old-school fitness workouts,” Stefani told InStyle. Post-baby or not, Heatlie says women need to do more lightweight resistance training than cardio, limiting rest periods between sets. He also stresses that it’s not just about the gym, “diet plays a big role in losing weight, period.”
To shed the 50 pounds she gained while pregnant with twins Max and Emme, Jennifer Lopez, teamed up with trainer Gunnar Peterson to get in shape for the annual Nautica Malibu triathalon. “Jennifer is naturally predisposed as a runner,” says Peterson, who started the former dancer off with short sprints, bike rides and laps in the pool, gradually upping the distance and intensity as her stamina increased and the race neared.
