Just kidding! No matter how many cheat meals you go for, if you follow a regular workout routine and a healthy diet in general, you’re sure to stay in good shape.

But if your best friend is getting married and you need into shape for that pretty dress and opt for a crash diet, then this could be your biggest mistake.

Or you, yes you! We’re talking to you Mr.Muscle hunk, those supplements and shakes that you binge on, might be really dangerous for you and we’re not kidding. Let’s find out…

Protein Shakes

Yes, this is the one! That shaker bottle might look trendy and that drink might give a power boost of energy, but did you know that these artificial proteins were actually harming you all this while. It also causes digestion problems.

And not just this, excessive protein shake consumption could lead to increased bowel movements, nausea, thirst, bloating, cramps, reduced appetite, tiredness, and headache. Researchers screened 134 products and found that many protein powders contained heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury), bisphenol-A (BPA, which is used to make plastic), pesticides, or other contaminants which causes cancer and other health conditions. Some toxins were present in significant quantities.

Come on man, eat some good roasted chicken or a peanut butter banana shake…off with the fake shake already!

Don’t go by the weighting scale

So you want to look good for that wedding and a crash diet is in your mind, then we say, stop right there! A crash diet does more harm than doing good. Losing more than 5kgs in a month could be more harmful than you think.

And don’t go by the weight on the scale, because the number on that scale is only one part of your weight. While your weight is comprised of a number of other elements together along with fluid fluctuations.

If the number on the scale is not reducing then you may very well be shedding fat mass. However, you can do a number of things to lose water weight.

Detox drinks – the have side effects too!

Detox! The very word sounds extremely healthy. However, some drinks are harmful. For example. Strong herbs, like senna, laxatives, high levels of caffeine, medicines, and illegal chemicals, like ephedrine, these can cause heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and even death. Moreover, all these ingredients can cause nervousness, restlessness, irritation, headache, anxiety, agitation, ringing in the ears, and fast heart rate and breathing rate and many more. So next time you go for a detox, think again!

Too much of anything results in a bad outcome! And the same goes for exercise as well.  No, we’re not telling you to stop exercising, but make sure you’re balancing out your time and effort. Too much dieting and no exercise at all is also bad, as it reduces muscle mass in your body. And too much exercise might leave you with life-long injuries. Balance it out, guys!

Mono diets – they are a thing

Mono diets could be a thing, but it is extremely dangerous for you! Mono diet is basically a one food diet. And these are as weird as the grapefruit diet, cookie diet, and potato diet. This could be the quickest way to ruin your health. Mono diets aren’t balanced and so it leads to nutrient deficiencies like vitamins A, D and B and minerals. Eat well and burn well is our secret mantra for you!
