At times, you would’ve imagined how easy life could’ve been if you were a celebrity. You would’ve your own private chefs, personal trainers and an on-call glam squad. Here is a thing, though – some of the most beautiful faces in Hollywood do their makeup on their own, at least most of the time. Looking at them, it is even clear that they’ve got some serious skills in that area.
Despite their million-pound fortunes, this lot forgo the make-up artist in favor or doing the work themselves. Here is the list of thee do-it-yourselfers who still look gorgeous without a team working on them.
Kate Winslet
The 44-year old actress has admitted she “loves” applying beauty products herself as she believes she can do it “fairly quickly” avoiding the “fuss and faff” of having a stylist “prod” and fiddle with her face. Well, judging from her pristine appearance on and off the red carpet, she does a pretty good job at it, too.

Jameela Jamil
At the 2019 Emmys, Jameela Jamil revealed she often does her own hair and makeup both for events and shoot, including the Emmy Awards themselves. “I said after halfway through season one [of The Good Place], I realized that the [hair and makeup artists] were getting in at like 4:45 or 4:30 in the morning. Sometimes 4:15,” Jamil shared on the red carpet. “I realized we had an hour and 45 minutes in hair and makeup, and I just sort of went to the producers of The Good Place and was like, ‘How ugly do you think I am? There’s no prosthetics on me.’ I need half an hour in hair and makeup? I’ll do my own makeup. And so I did my own makeup for the show and someone else did my hair. I got the same amount of time for hair and makeup as the boys. Because I can’t be funny when I’m tired.”

Lady Gaga
Although, Lady Gaga relies on her longtime makeup artist Sarah Tanno for most of her more out-there looks, she recently showed off her lip-liner skills in an Instagram video. At a brand event for Gaga’s makeup line, Haus Laboratories, Tanno revealed that Gaga does her own makeup when she’s not making a major appearance. “She’s always pretty good with her signature black liner, her mascara and her lip, but she’s never somebody that would dig through an eye shadow drawer, it’s just not her thing,” said Tanno. She did reveal that for a quick glam, Gaga likes to use Haus Labs Glam Attack in Chained Ballerina for a smudgy smoky eye, or Glam Attack in Rose B*tch on eyes, lips, and cheeks for a monochromatic look.

Kate Middleton
Like you, we can’t believe it either! Kate’s just like us in that she isn’t exempt from suffering the odd beauty faux pas; the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly painted her own gorgeous face for her wedding in 2011 to Prince William, and although she apparently enlisted the help of some professionals in the run-up to her big day, she got a lot of stick for her somewhat heavy-handed technique. (Vivienne Westwood famously said that Kate had a ‘problem’ doing her eye-makeup). Ouch.

Gwen Stefani
Gwen actually learned her make-up artistry working on a cosmetics counter as a teenager, and now the legendary pop-rock singer is among the few celebrities who do their own make-up for events as well as shows. To keep her make-up on throughout her performances, Gwen favors a ‘sweat-proofing’ technique which involves heavily layering make-up on her face and using double sets of lashes, and her matte skin and smoky-eye has obviously garnered her legions of fans in the beauty world too – she’s now got her own range of make-up with cosmetics giant Urban Decay.

Kate Hudson
You’ve probably seen her with a beauty squad if you follow her on Snapchat, but more often than not, she likes to do her own makeup (she’s also super into beautifying masks). “I always clean my face, put a moisturizer on right away and let it soak before doing anything else…I’m always trying to take care of my skin, I really think staying hydrated is everything,” Kate told Redbook last year. When it comes to makeup, Kate said, “I really, really like to layer on the lashes, it makes it look very full around the eye.”

Blake Lively
Another A-lister who enjoys the occasional challenge of making her own face red-carpet ready: Blake Lively. “I like doing my own makeup and hair for events. I think its fun,” she says. No surprise, since this crafty one is known for being her own fashion stylist too. However, she’s picked up her makeup moves firsthand, not online. “Through doing photo shoots, I get to work with so many amazing hair and makeup artists. That’s my version of YouTube,” she says.

Zendaya
Zendaya frequently does her own makeup for red carpet events—and she’s extremely talented at it. The actress is capable of executing expert-level smokey eyes and an airbrushed, contoured complexion. Basically, she’s an undercover beauty pro.

These celebrities have given up professional service to do their own makeup and hair for red carpet events instead.
By the looks of things, they don’t need assistance anyway.
