Traveling to new corners of the world is an incredible experience. But it doesn’t match with the beauty regime we’ve perfected at home.
Flying dehydrates the skin, packing restrictions limit the number of products we can take and we might not have access to any beauty salons on our travels. So we’ve rounded up our top beauty travel tips and tricks to keep you looking gorgeous on your next trip.
1. Hydrate your skin

Although during travel skin dries still Nothing is going to dry out your skin more than the stale cabin air of a plane. It’s better uses GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD HYDRATING MASK the night before, to give your skin a little extra hydration.
This is, hands down, the most important step. Drink plenty of water before and during your whole trip.
Further, you can add moisture to the skin by giving yourself a facial. Use a sheet mask – our top product tip is Rodial’s Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Hydrating mask – or, if you prefer to stay slightly more inconspicuous, a cream mask-like Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask.
2. Travel-sized makeup
These days the safest palettes to travel with are the LORAC PRO PALETTE, NAKED ONE PALETTE, NAKED BASICS PALETTE. And the best part is these palettes are sturdy enough to survive the trip and they’re neutral palettes you can create a variety of looks with.
There are even more kits you can buy like Stowaway as it’s VERY tiny but very high-quality makeup. Also, there are mini’s of regular makeup that actually lasts up to a year and it’s great because you can get new fun colors each year rather than be stuck with full-sized makeup that lasts forever. Some of the most favorite small pieces of makeup that you can always travel with are:
- Smashbox under-eye highlighter
- Laura Mercier brow stick
- Benefit bronze illuminator (tiny bottle lasts FOREVER)
- Josie Maran stain (lips and cheeks… amazing stuff)
- MAC concealer (small and even if you only use it a few times, it’s worth taking).
3. Pack multi-purpose products.
One of the perfect ways to save space in your makeup bag is to pack products that you can use for more than one thing. For example, BECCA CHAMPAGNE POP HIGHLIGHT as both a cheekbone highlight and an eyeshadow. Bronzers can also double as eyeshadows. Another great product, especially for summer trips, is BECCA SHIMMER SOUFFLE. And the cream product can quickly add some color and glow to your face with just one swipe!
4.Travel Perfume
So, this seems like an obvious one, but the tip here is how to get SO much perfume for free! Well, you can get samples at Sephora for travel. As they will put any perfume you want into a little spray bottle and label it for you. Second, is buy a Sephora Perfume Sampler when they have them. Sephora always has these trial perfume kits with about 7-10 little mini perfumes that actually last long.
The thing that makes these THE BEST is that it comes with a coupon for a free full-size perfume of your choice from the box set. The box set is less than the full-size perfume, so you saved money and got loads of perfume that lasts long your vacation. Isn’t it Perfect!
5.In-flight facials.
Don’t think that it’s a new service any airline has started though they should definitely, however it’s a simple trick you can use while in the air to ensure you land looking and feeling refreshed. The SEPHORA SHEET MASKS is best to use while traveling.

They’re quick and mess-free, however, you will freak out anyone who looks at you. You can also try ORIGINS HYDRATING OVERNIGHT MASK. Which comes in little travel size pods so you can just apply as you would any moisturizer and let your skin absorb the excess.
6. Do your makeup in five minutes.
While traveling every person wants to be out exploring and not in your hotel room doing your makeup for hours anyway. You can keep it simple when you travel and can do makeup in under five minutes with these products:
- Dior BB cream
- Garnier BB cream concealer (perfect for hiding jet-lagged eyes)
- BECCA shimmer soufflé
- Benefit tinted brow gel (to frame the face )
- Tarte waterproof mascara
- Fresh lip balm (extremely moisturizing and super pigmented; worth the splurge!)
7. Go from day to night with bold lipsticks.
In shows, people travel with a smokey eye as much as the next gal, but in reality, nobody got time for that when traveling! For girls travel starts from adventuring explorer to girl out on the town, so simply stick with your daytime makeup and just spice it up with a bold lip! Some of the favorites are MAC MILEY CYRUS VIVA GLAM and MAC RUBY WOO.
Now you know the traveling tips, you can plan your trip soon!
