“I’ll never wear it but I know I love that top!”
No matter how many times I decide to clean up my wardrobe, I always end up playing around every old dress I come across and imagine a million spotlights on the ‘center stage me.’ I might not have worn that weird ruffled dress for decades because it looks funny, but who knows, I might need it someday! (Even God wouldn’t know for what).
Decluttering is one battle that rules every girl’s, delicate heart. It’s always okay to go for another shopping trip even if we don’t have any place left in our wardrobe. I still don’t understand how some girls manage to change their entire wardrobe? I mean girls, don’t you feel bad for hurting your dress’ feelings?
But then sometimes parting away and making new friends is good too (still getting used to that though). I know you’re another damsel like me when it comes to decluttering the wardrobe and that’s why you’re here. Well, I’ll try my best to help you out because miraculously these steps helped me to get over my never-ending love story with my old clothes!
Okay! Stop! Don’t hit that snooze button again, let’s do something awesome today!

It’s time to clear out and plan!
You might be super proud of that Zara top you bought 5 years ago but wore it just once! Come on now, always remember the golden rule, “If you haven’t worn it for 2 years, you’ll probably never wear it again!” Let’s make a deal here, shall we? My child, it’s time to get rid of that funky fur and freaky ruffles that you haven’t touched for so long.
(Sentimental? Oh enough already!) It’s time to do a little good deed. Give away your old clothes to someone who needs them more than you. Free yourself some space in your wardrobe even if your heart aches (I know that pain!)
Need some moral support? It’s okay if you need one. You can call over your girls (a slumber party isn’t a bad idea!) and host a fashion show, whatever looks good stays, and whatever doesn’t, just get rid of them, simple.
Sometimes you need to be extremely ruthless or else that wardrobe is going keep overflowing with more frilly mess!
That cleaned out – decluttered feeling, later on, feels better than ice cream! And if you want to play a bit of a ‘fashion designer’ then set aside the clothes that would look great after a makeover (maybe shred away those pair of jeans to something jazzy)
Let’s fix it up!
Ladies, it’s time to calm down because the difficult part is over. And the best part is, you have what you truly need, and it’s time to make your wardrobe girly-neat. Let’s get down to all the fancy accessories, scarves, belts, and all that jazz.
Roll up the belts, fold in the gloves and the other tiny accessories, just snug them in the drawers. For those pretty scarves, just put them up on a hanger or an organizer and with these hacks, it’s not just easy to spot your scarves, your wardrobe will look pretty too!
Now, let’s get orderly! Utilize your shelve separators for jeans, dresses, tops and so on. It’s always a cute display if you put up cute scribble tags to your shelves, they look neat and they help you find things faster.

Shoes! They need attention too!
Now the most important part (for me surely) THE SHOES! You might not realize but these babies need a lot of care. Make sure you air them and put them out for a sunbath frequently – it keeps the resin intact. I’m sure you don’t want your soles falling off! And keep all your shoes on the rack so that you can see them all, or else you are unlikely to wear them.
Off with the woollies!
I know that leather jacket or those sexy blazers are way too gorgeous to put away, but come on now! Summer is here and these babies need a good hibernation sleep. Also, when you put away your woolly goodies, make sure you stuff in naphthalene balls or fresheners to keep them happy and safe!
Sentiments play hard!
Darling, it’s absolutely okay to keep your Nani’s sari or that dress you bought with your first salary! But it is not okay to keep everything that you’ve never worn or would never wear, let that subtle heart toughen up with a deal that says, “more shopping!”
So girls, come on now. I know you can do this, because if a weak-hearted damsel, who couldn’t get rid of a pair of shorts that literally grew up with me, then you ladies are superstars out there! And you can definitely master this ninja stunt!
