Even before the events of season 3 of ‘Yellowstone’ left its audience shocked and at a loss for words, Paramount had already started preparing for the next instalment.
The American drama series starring Kevin Costner has been a massive hit in the United States.
More often than not, a scenic location mixed with a dysfunctional family, and a healthy dose of drama and nostalgia results in a very hit show. Season 3 of the show might have left the audience with a glaring number of questions, but will season 4 of ‘Yellowstone’ answer them? And, if yes, when?
‘Yellowstone’ Season 4: When is it coming out?
The Paramount Network took no time in renewing ‘Yellowstone’ for the fourth season, and the show got renewed in February 2020, four months before season 3 premiered. The renewal was a surprise for no one as the show averages 5 million views per episode (according to “Variety”).
Although an exact release date has not been confirmed for season four, the previous three seasons of ‘Yellowstone’ have premiered in June, so fans can expect season four to arrive in summer 2021. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, there might be a change in this schedule.

Show-runner Taylor Sheridan told “Deadline” that the shoot began in mid-August in a ranch in Montana, where there are no active coronavirus cases. So, we might get a June release anyway.
So, what and who can we expect from season 4?
The what and who of the west world
The primary characters will all be returning to season 4, which includes two-time Oscar-winning actor Kevin Costner (who is also an executive producer), who will be returning as John Dutton, the owner of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. Kelly Reilly will also be reprising her role as Beth Dutton, John’s daughter.
Luke Grimes (known for ‘American Sniper’) will also be returning as Kayce Dutton, John’s youngest son. Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton, John’s other son, and Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, John’s business partner and ranch handler will be making a comeback.
The fate of Dan Jenkins played by Danny Huston (famously known for his role in ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘The Aviator’) is unknown for Yellowstone season 4.
What will happen now?
The last few episodes of season 3 revolved around the Dutton family’s struggle to keep their land. John Dutton had to choose between $500 million by selling his property or wait for the state of Montana to condemn the property. While both of his children (Beth and Kayce) tried to convince their father to accept the half-billion-dollar offer, no conclusion came to fruition as a bomb detonated their ranch.
Viewers were left with their jaw hanging open when season 3 ended with a devastating attack on the Dutton family. The episode’s final moments was a heart-wrenching mess and witnessed John Dutton on the brink of death with the fates of his children Beth and Kayce undisclosed.
It is hard to predict what will happen in season four, but we will likely see the Dutton family enter more conflicts as they expand their cattle ranch, but who will survive the attack? There is still a year left to find out.
