Avengers of Netflix – Russo Brothers planning an Extraction sequel on Netflix starring Chris Hemsworth.
Extraction premiered on Netflix on April 24, 2020. The movie was directed by Sam Hargrave and was written by Avengers Endgame director Joe Russo with his brother Anthony is one of the producers. The movie was undoubtedly one of the best action movies to come out of Netflix and had a lot of money thrown into its scope and grandeur.
The movie followed a black ops mercenary on a mission to save the son of Indian drug lord kidnapped in Dhaka, Bangladesh. As Tyler Rake, played by Chris Hemsworth, tries rescuing Ovi Mahajan, played by Rudhraksh Jaiswal, things begin to fall out of place, and they are left stuck in the Dhaka. In the climax when Ovi gets rescued, we see Tayler taking a bullet to his neck and falling into the river. In the end, we are left with the question if Rake is alive or not.
Now, as the Russo Brothers have announced a sequel to Netflix’s Extraction, probably starring Chris Hemsworth again, it seems that Tyler made it out alive.

In a recent interview to Deadline, Joe Russo said that Netflix is planning an Extraction 2, and he is going to write the sequel as well. He said “The deal is closed for me to write Extraction 2, and we are in the formative stages of what the story can be. We’re not committing yet to whether that story goes forward, or backward in time. We left a big loose ending that leaves question marks for the audience.”
Indeed, the ending was loose enough to fit as much of liberty to the story of the sequel as they wish. Thus, who knows if Russo Brother’s end up introduction several new characters, and making an Avengers out of Netflix’s Extraction.
Will Chris Hemsworth return in Extraction 2?
We don’t know if Tyler was alive at the end of Extraction after getting shot on his neck. If he died, Chris Hemsworth probably won’t be back if not for a prequel. But if he lived, as we can expect for obvious reasons, then Chris will be returning for the Extraction sequel without any doubt.
Though neither Joe Russo confirmed anything about the cast, and nor Netflix made any announcement. But once the plot and script are sealed, we will come to know if Chris Hemsworth will be back for Russo Brothers’ Extraction sequel on Netflix.
