What happened to Johnny Galecki after The Big Bang Theory ended?
The Big Bang Theory is a bigger phenomenon than the Big Bang. There’s not a single sit-com fan who was left untouched and un-tickled by this successful American sitcom on CBS.
TBBT debuted on CBS in September 2007. Though the show wasn’t welcomed with open arms by critics and viewers initially, as the seasons progressed, it became one of the trending shows in sitcom history.
The show revolved around the lives of a group of four socially awkward friends i.e. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Howard (Simon Helberg), and Raj (Kunal Nayyar). The show also had several female characters including Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Amy (Mayim Bialik).

Though since TBBT ended, fans have been curious to tune into other shows or movies that have their favorite cast members.
For the fans of Jim Parsons, CBS’ Young Sheldon proved to be the most convenient stop. It not only had Parsons’ adorable voice-over of the adult Sheldon, but was a spin-off of TBBT with Sheldon Cooper in his young avatar. However, fans are having a hard time figuring the right spot to watch Johnny Galecki after The Big Bang Theory.
How did Johnny Galecki react to the show’s end?
The Big Bang Theory ran for 12 long years till May 2019, and this whole time, Johnny Galecki had been the part of the show. Twelve years is a long time for the cast and crew to become a family. Thus, for none of them moved on easily.
While speaking to People over the bitter-sweet ending of TBBT, Galecki expressed his emotions over the end.
He said: “We’re a true family there, absolutely. It’s just been such a bonding experience for all of us. I’m not counting it [down] like a prison term, I’m not counting down because I’m looking forward to it whatsoever — I want to appreciate every day with everybody there that we have left.”
The show ended as Jim Parsons was not willing to be back for more. Thus, everyone in the cast, including Galecki, moved on to other projects.

Galecki in various roles after TBBT.
Johnny Galecki has been keeping a little away from work after The Big Bang Theory, and a non-acting one at that. He is currently engaged in a father’s role. Back in May 2019, when TBBT was yet to end, Galecki and Meyer announced that they were expecting their first child. In December 2019, their son Avery was born.
Last year, Galecki had also revealed to TV Line that he’s not currently willing to become regular on another TV show. He said,
“I think I need a little bit of space from being a series regular again.”
Yet, Johnny appeared more regularly in season 2 of The Conners, a spin-off to ABC’s Roseanne. The Conners has been renewed by ABC for a season 3, and Galecki is expected to be a more prominent part of the show.
Galecki is also reportedly working to produce and create another sitcom for NBC about eSports. As reported by Deadline, the show is titled The Squad. However, not many details regarding the cast and story of the show are known.
But we hope that we soon get to see Johnny Galecki in something grand after The Big Bang Theory.
