Everyone loves Captain America as much as they love Iron Man. No MCU fan can ever think of trading-off one for another’s life. But what if Captain America snapped in Avengers Endgame instead of Iron Man?
It was the saddest moment for everyone. Not only all the superheroes in Avengers Endgame, but all the fans also cried during Tony Stark’s funeral. When the world needed him the most – the genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist – the egoist, sacrificed his life to save the world.
During the Final Battle of Avengers Endgame, when Thanos was about to snap everyone out of existence again, Iron Man snatched all the Infinity Stones from him and snapped Thanos and his army out of existence. This didn’t go well for Iron Man aka Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., and the power of the snap consumed his life as well.
But what if Captain America snapped in Avengers Endgame instead of Iron Man? What would have been different? Do you think Captain America would have died as well? Or do you think the snap would have had a different effect on the world?

What if Captain America snapped in Avengers Endgame instead of Iron Man?
Recently, a fan-made poster of Captain America wearing Infinity Gauntlet and snapping his fingers had gone viral. The poster looked dope, but it raised a few questions in the mind of fans. Everyone wants to know what made Marvel choose Iron Man over Captain America for the purpose.
What if not Iron Man, but Captain America snapped his fingers in Avengers Endgame? What would have been different?
Captain America would have died – or probably not!
Do you think the Snap would have affected Captain America in the same way as it affected Iron Man? Everyone knows what happened to Thanos after he snapped for the first time in Infinity War. And when Thanos snapped the second time to destroy the stones, he reached almost a condition where he became extremely weak. Hulk too suffered a burn from the snap. But the effect was significantly less.
We are yet to figure out how the Gauntlet had so less effect on Hulk when it almost killed the most powerful being in the universe. Considering this uncertainty of effect, we wonder how it would have affected Captain America.
Maybe the Super Serum had enough power to at least keep Captain America alive after the snap. In that case, Iron Man wouldn’t have died, and neither Captain America.
What if Captain America snapped in Avengers Endgame, and it didn’t kill Thanos?
No one knows what mantras one has to speak while snapping. In the first snap, Thanos wiped out half the living beings from the universe. In a second snap, he destroyed the Infinity Stones. Hulk brought everyone back with the snap. And Iron Man selectively wiped out Thanos and his army with the snap.

So, it is confirmed that the Snap can execute different tasks. But no one knows if it is decided by the intention of the one snapping, or something else. Considering it, it’s possible that if Captain America snapped, it might have had different results. And those results might also mean Thanos staying into existence.
Iron Man would have still been flying in his a newly invented Iron Suit.
We don’t know if Captain America would have died due to snap or not, but what we know is that Iron Man would have surely been living and flying around in his Iron Suit. After Iron Man’s death, Captain America went back in the time to place the Infinity Stones back into their places.
But he stayed back to fulfil few of his desires and grew old in the past. However, if Iron Man would have lived, and would have gone back in time, then he had no reason to stay back. Iron Man would have returned to be with us, to fight for us.
