- ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 got tricked this Halloween
- The horror drama has got phenomenal response throughout its 10 seasons
- The series will not be hitting our screens in October, but there’s another surprise
When ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 got tricked
The announcement that there will be no season of the show this year was made at the show’s Comic-Con panel by Angela Kang. This decision has been taken due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis which has put a stop to many series and shoots. ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 is just the latest to fall prey to the pandemic.
This is the first time since the show was aired that a new season will not be aired in October. However, there is a slight relief with regard to season 10.
The unseasonal change
While ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 will surely not make it to our screens this year, there is a slight change in schedule concerning season 10. The makers have confirmed that the finale of season 10 will release on October 4th, 2020, at 9 pm. This has been rescheduled due to the pandemic.
However, that’s not it. As per the makers, while there may not be ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 in 2020, there is more of season 10 in 2021. According to the makers, six fresh episodes will be shot early in 2021 and will be added to the last season, thus making it the longest ever season in the history of the show, with 22 episodes.
Which The Walking Dead character are you? (Quiz)
The untainted spirit despite the daunting ratings
‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 will be going strong whenever it hits the screens, despite the steadily decreasing ratings of the show. The zombie apocalypse has a steady fan following and they definitely want to witness the survivors’ zeal to live in these post-apocalyptic times of horrifying incidents and zombies.
Furthermore, even though the fight for survival is unpredictable, we know one person who is definitely coming back in the next season: Lauren Cohan who will be reprising her role as Maggie. However, she will be without her sweetheart Glenn, played by Steven Yeun.
Also, we know one person who will not be a part of the cast. Michonne has finally bid adieu to the series. Yes, Danai Gurira will not be joining the cast, even for a cameo, and the same has been confirmed by the producers as well.
The surprise element?
One surprising aspect of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 is that a musical special is in the works. How it will fit in the show is yet to be seen. We definitely don’t mind zombies breaking into a song. It will be tricky, it will be risky, but quite interesting if the makers pull it off well.
Well, though the news of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 not having a Halloween premiere is a heartbreaking one, we’re still interested in the additional surprise that the makers are offering. Let’s wait for it.
