Netflix’s Virgin River Season 2 is coming soon
Not only has the series been confirmed to be renewed for another season on Netflix, but the streaming app and production house also confirmed that this will be a ten-episode run.
The show, which concluded the filming in December 2019, before the coronavirus pandemic halted TV and film productions all over the world, will be releasing in December 2020 on Netflix, around Christmas time. (All reasons to be merry indeed!)
The cast includes Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel in the lead with Martin Henderson (of Grey’s Anatomy fame) as Jack. You can also expect Colin Monroe as John Preacher, Jenny Cooper as Joeys Barnes in season two.

What is Virgin River about?
When we say ‘Hallmark’, we really mean it. In the show, widowed nurse-practitioner and midwife Mel Monroe who lost her husband in a car accident move to the remote mountain town of ‘Virgin River’ to escape heartbreak. In episode one, we get to see Mel meet her love interest Jack, who is a former marine and falls in love with her at first sight.
Jack, her anchor in a life that is drowning her, helps her rebuild it. He helps her make her cabin habitable as she works to prove herself to the community and build herself a life in the small town of Virgin River.
What proves to be a standout in the series is the fact that the show is designed to keep itself ordinary, as its primary charm is the intense chemistry between the two leads stars.
How it ended in season 1
Season 1 of Virgin River ended on a very dramatic note, and if you’ve been following the storyline till now, this won’t come as a surprise. In the final episode, we see as Mel decides to leave the quaint little town forever and declares that she can no longer be with Jack. The strain in their relationship comes from the fact that Charmaine is pregnant with Jack’s baby, which makes Mel insecure about her own fertility.
Things aren’t looking good for Paige either, whose ex-husband shows up in town and Paige goes missing in the final episode.
Well, it’s a good thing that we have a season two of Virgin River to look forward to, as one can’t leave Mel and Jack’s stories to our imagination now, can we? What do you think will happen in Season 2? Are you excited? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below
