Bond or not, Tom Hiddleston returns on The Night Manager Season 2
Back in 2016, by all standards of the James Bond franchise, AMC’s mini-series The Night Manager showed us the future of Daniel Craig by launching Tom Hiddleston in America.
You aren’t a human with a beating heart, let alone a girl if you don’t find Tom Hiddleston sexy. His enticing voice, his well-placed collarbones, and not to mention his buttocks, can swoon Britain and America in equal proportions.
The Night Manager created a fuss when it was first launched in the UK on BBC One. The series attracted up to 10 million viewers for some episodes. This means that one out of every six of the entire UK was watching The Night Manager and, of course, the hot spy- Jonathan Pike played by Tom Hiddleston.
Without a doubt, the first season of The Night Manager received a stupendous amount of success. After all, one felt the heat of Bond without actually seeing James Bond.
The question is why did it take so long to make season 2? Why is there such a hype about the second season of The Night Manager?
Why is the reboot of The Night Manager for season 2 such a big deal?
The fact that The Night Manager is happening is quite significant. The mini-series is based on the standalone novel written by John Le Carre. According to the writer of the second season, John has never allowed adaptations of his stories to have a sequel which is not based on his books.
In that case, getting a green signal from Carre to go with the second season of The Night Manager is a blessing.
The new writers’ team is burning the midnight oil to come up with a fantastic story that can beat the first season. It has been a big responsibility and, as it said that Rome was not built in a day, one can imagine why it took so long.
Release date and the cast of The Night Manager Season 2
The spy drama’s original screenwriter, David Farr, is not writing the second season as he is busy with his action drama series ‘Hanna’. The director of season 1, Susanne Bier, has decided to let other talents take over the reins of The Night Manager Season 2.
As far as the actors are concerned, Tom Hiddleston is certainly back on The Night Manager. Along with him, Hugh Laurie and Elizabeth Debicki have expressed interest in being part of the second season of The Night Manager.
The writer has kept the plot and the release tightly under wraps, to maintain the thrill and excitement of the spy drama.
Four years is already a long wait and the team has been writing for two years now. If sources are to be believed, the time is not far when The Night Manager Season 2 will ride on the sexy shoulders of Tom Hiddleston. It is not too far-fetched an idea to assume that the second season may release by the fall of 2021.
