The Ranch ended earlier this year, but reports say otherwise. The show apparently, never ended! Here’s what actually happened.
It was back in 2018 during Sam Elliott’s Oscar run in, when Ashton Kutcher’s The Ranch was declared to be ending with season 8. First aired in 2016 as Netflix’s most casually profane, multi-cam setup sitcoms, The Ranch finally packed up in 2020, leaving fans wanting more of Colt Bennett since.

- Why Ashton Kutcher is the king of The Ranch?
As the rumours about Two and a Half Men and The Ranch both rebooting at the same time started creating a buzz, fans started wondering if Ashton Kutcher is having issues with which show to choose. Well, not anymore. We have a solid new update for you all. Scroll down to know more.
It was all for publicity
In June 2019, star Ashton Kucher, also the executive producer of the show, announced the fate of the sitcom, “The Ranch is coming to an end, but we’re excited to bring you the final 20 episodes [Season 8] – 10 streaming later this year [2019] and then 10 more in 2020 on Netflix.”
As it turns out, all this was just a publicity stunt to increase the hype about season 9. Insiders in the crew hinted that the show is not cancelled after all. Furthermore, in the shooting of a Super Bowl advert, Sam Eliot, who plays Beau Bennet in the series, sparked hopes as he said, “Something mighty different is coming to The Ranch.” Albeit, when the new production is going to start is not confirmed yet due to the pandemic.

Controversies surrounding The Ranch
With The Ranch, what started as smooth sailing, turned into a mess when Danny Masterson was accused of multiple allegations of sexual assault. This led Netflix to kill his character Rooster in a brutal bike accident. Later, the character was replaced by Dax Shepard as Ashton Kutcher aka Colt Bennett’s estranged cousin Luke Matthews.
Why Ashton Kutcher is the king of The Ranch?
As Colt Bennett, Kutcher perfected the art of playing his rough-boy next door charm. In Colt, we see a golden boy who couldn’t make it in the big leagues. So, instead of turning into a bully to take out his frustration, he is more self-reflective.
In those moments of vulnerability, Ashton Kutcher makes an alarmingly good case for himself. Reflecting on the same emotions, one of the fans commented in Dkoding, “Ashton playing Colt Bennett in The Ranch is absolutely the BEST all day, any day, & every day!!!” What do you think?
