Nobody knows when the new season will be released. It was previously known to the show’s developers that the season finale would be released sometime in May. But because of the global pandemic, the series was severely hit and the finale was cut short by the lockdown.
Now, why is Ildy Modrovich frustrated with Netflix and Warner Bros.? After Lucifer was saved by Netflix last year, the network teamed up with the producers and decided on releasing only 10 episodes per season.
Modrovich is quite disappointed at the lack of news from the streaming giant. It’s definitely great to know that fans aren’t alone in this wait, while they eagerly keep checking social media platforms for a new update.
Modrovich kept the fans updated as often as she could. She has also responded to a few fan tweets asking her about when will the show’s release date be confirmed. “I know! Feel free to be annoyed. I thought it’d be sooner than it’s been. Oof” she replied.

Season 4 took quite a few unexpected turns. With Chloe finally accepting Lucifer’s love for her to the latter leaving Earth to control the demons in Hell, it ended on a breathtaking note that fans needed answers to.

The exact release date has been confirmed yet. If it wasn’t for the coronavirus, the showrunners would’ve completed production and the new season would’ve been released much before than expected.
If online reports are true, season 5 will release sometime around August. However, since we also know that the new season will be in two parts, the release date of the other 8 episodes are unknown.
Will there be a season 6?
Well, if Tom Ellis has really signed a contract for another season, then the speculation for a sixth season is not unfounded. But since the release date of season 5 part 2 hasn’t been confirmed, it is uncertain when season 6 will release.
