New costume designs to make guessing hard?
The creator Craig Plestis and costume designer Marina Toybina are tight-lipped about the costumes for the upcoming season. Nothing has been unveiled so far, however, they have dropped few hints.
Marina is experimenting with 3D printing this time, which was never attempted before in the reality show. Plestis can’t wait to show the new designs to America. He said that the new designs on season 4 will make it “even harder to decipher the [celebrity] than before.”
Marina revealed that she is working with new craftsmen and almost every costume is hand-finished. She is learning new ways to create masks, keeping the breathability factor in mind.
She said, “We have to consider the ideas of vocal and vision and making everything breathable.”
We can expect new contestants, new costumes and heightened levels of insanity when Fox starts airing The Masked Singer season 4. Most likely, there wouldn’t be any alterations in the panel of judges. Nick Cannon will be returning as host and Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy will once again serve as the show’s panellists.
The Masked Singer to return with major changes in the sets in the wake of Covid-19
With the pandemic hitting the world and almost paralysing every aspect of life, there is need to adapt to the new normal and make certain changes in lifestyle. Looks like The Masked Singer will be doing the same on the sets.
“There are some elements that we’re developing right now that will blow everyone’s mind with what we’re doing with the set. When it comes out in the fall, no other network will have done this before,” Plestis told a virtual panel.
The show hasn’t begun filming so we are not sure whether there will be an audience on the set, given the safety issues.
Fox said it was hopeful that the production on the new batch of episodes would begin in early August. That’s still the plan, barring any possible delays that may arise due to the pandemic.
When will season 4 premiere?
Entertainment Weekly posted that the fourth season of The Masked Singer will premiere this fall. So keep your Wednesday evenings free. The show may air its first episode on September 23 as fall TV shows usually start airing from late September. In case the shutdown continues till August, then the premiere might be postponed to January 2021. The reality singing competition boasts nine million viewers weekly.
Fox hasn’t revealed the celebrity contestants who are coming on the fourth season. The third season saw the largest lineup with 18 masked contenders.
On being asked about the number of contestants, Plestis told the virtual panel, “If I could tell you that, I could tell you a lot more, too. There will be more than one contestant, I can tell you that.”
