The very name of the last episode of season 7 is called, ‘End’. This has been clear for about quite a while and through various episodes that the creators of ‘The Good Wife’ have been working hard at this show with the aim to create just 7 seasons to wrap up their entire story and plot.
Highlights —
- What happened in the season 7 Finale?
- What is the status of the show now?
- Will the show be able to survive this change?
As the arrangement wrapped up in the last episode, Peter was seen again, being investigated, Alicia was in a tough situation and as per usual, there was an attractive man hanging tight for her.

The question that rose here is, would her choice be distinctive this time? All things considered; I believe it’s probably a yes as well as a no.
The Good Wife makers Robert and Michelle King say something regarding the closure that is all set in their minds, that even star Julianna Margulies said in advance, would be exceptionally scarring and troublesome for her as well as all the fans.

As many predicted, Alicia ended the series by deciding to become a “bad“ wife and she was seen standing strong by Peter’s side to help him evade the claims and the very idea behind the whole scene seems to be of her own self-interests, is the Good Wife, being selfish?
Still, in the very scandalous scene where we see Diane landing a tight slap on Alicia’s cheek is shown as a perfect reflection of the premier where we see Alicia doing the same to Peter, We see a moment of self-reflection and recognition going through Alicia’s face and her mind as the drapes collapsed on the show for the season!
What is the status of the show now?
As previously stated, The Creators of the show, Robert and Michelle King had always had an image of 7 seasons in their mind while writing and making this show the amazing chaos that it is today and according to them, the story has come full circle.
However, the show obviously belongs to the channel, CBS. The people at CBS have been rumoured to have been pushing for another season for the series because of the enthusiasm and the craze in the hearts and minds of the fans for the show.
“The bottom line is CBS is trying to make deals for an eighth season, so we would be there in a supervisory role, but the storytelling we have will finish in the seventh year, of course, That doesn’t mean we’re putting Alicia in her grave, because you couldn’t do an eighth season after that. But to our minds, we have always written with the idea we could end this season a certain way so that it would make it a satisfactory [conclusion to the] series.” — States the creator, Robert King.
Will the show be able to survive this change?
- The question that now rises through the minds of most fans is, will the show remain as amazing and attractive once the very creators of the same walk out on it?
- Will Alicia once again be able to climb to the top and emerge as the heroine of the show, with all the attention on her squared jaw and new-found confidence?
- Will she once again be able to take her position as the ‘Good Wife’ or the image of this bad wife that she has become over-time remain seated in the hearts of the fans forever?
The very fact that we have to wait to be able to hear for sure is season 8 is in the making is super strenuous for all the fans!
At the moment, it isn’t sure if the breath of fresh air will be able to make the show juicier and more interesting, but that is a question to be answered with time.
