There are a total of eight novels in Quinn’s series. Each of them focuses on a different Bridgerton child. Hence, with such a huge ensemble cast, Netflix could easily renew ‘Bridgerton’ for many seasons.
There has currently been no announcement regarding season 2 of ‘Bridgerton’ on Netflix. Even though Netflix has not renewed ‘Bridgeton’ season 2 yet, Production Weekly, a premium service that tracks news and updates regarding TV and film projects, has included Bridgerton’s next season. The project has been titled ‘Bridgerton 02’ that will commence in Uxbridge, England in March 2021. It has also been reported that the filming for season 2 of ‘Bridgerton’ was supposed to begin in July 2020. But due to the covid pandemic, it had to be postponed to March 2021. The filming of ‘Bridgerton’ Season 1 took around a year to shoot. Hence, we might not get to see ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 return on Netflix before 2022.

Season 2 ‘Bridgerton’ plot details
There is a possibility that the second season of ‘Bridgerton’ would be based on London’s most popular bachelor, Anthony Bridgerton, from the second book series, “The Viscount Who Loved Me”.
In the first season, the eldest child, Anthony, was in a physical relationship with opera singer Siena Rosso (Sabrina Bartlett). However, she realised that both of them could not be together due to their different backgrounds. At the end of season 1 of ‘Bridgerton’, Anthony took a vow to find himself a wife, something which he had been strongly avoiding in the past. In the book, Anthony Bridgerton plans to settle down and marry the beautiful Edwina Sheffield. But Edwina’s older sister, Kate, is determined to stop the wedding as she does not feel a reformed rake is worthy of marrying. Anthony soon realizes that he may have unwanted romantic feelings for Kate.
Will Daphne and Simon be part of season 2 ‘Bridgerton’?
The first season of ‘Bridgerton’ was inspired by Julia Quinn’s first book in the ‘Bridgerton’ series, “The Duke and I”. It revolved around the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family, Daphne. She strikes a deal with Duke Simon Bassett to be in a fake relationship. Like every great romantic series, the two fall in love with each other.
At the end of season 1 of ‘Bridgerton’, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) got to know that Simon did not want to have any kids. When he was a kid, Simon (Regé-Jean Page) was rejected by his father due to his speech impediment. He never felt worthy of love. Viewers were happy to see Daphne and the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett, have a baby boy together.
In a recent interview with “ELLE.com”, Phoebe talked about season 2 of ‘Bridgerton’.
“If the seasons are sticking to the books, then it’s Anthony’s turn to find love. So, we’re passing on the baton, in that respect. I want to see Daphne get involved in Anthony’s love life a bit, as he sorts of meddled with hers quite a lot. I think that will be fun.”
Recently, in an interview with “TV Guide”, Regé-Jean Page spoke about what the future holds for Daphne and Simon. He spoke about how it is about continuing to explore characters. He felt that love is an evolving thing. It is a living, breathing thing that needs tending, that needs looking after. It needs mending when it gets worn or torn. Both of them get married very young. Hence, they still have a lot of growing to do. As they have a lot to do, he felt it will always be fun to watch them do that together.
