Did you know “That ‘70s Show” had one episode from Season 2 connecting to the James Bond and the Bond franchise?
We all know there was no literal connection between the James Bond universe and That ‘70s Show. Both were set in different timelines over the period and of course, belonged to different studios. And come on, do you really see James Bond hanging around in Wisconsin with teenagers? Yet, looking back at the show, we found a literal crossover with James Bond in its season 2.
Highlights:
- That ‘70s Show and the James bond connection.
- Midge Pinciotti as That ‘70s Show’s Bond Girl.
- A Bond Girls’ reunion in That ‘70s Show.
We wonder how we never realized the obvious callback the sitcom based in the 70s gave to 007 film series. The show was known and was loved for having surprising guests who became popular around the 70s.
No! James Bond didn’t visit the show, neither there was a direct reference to Bond. But still, the connection was as real and as clever as it could have been for any show.
That ‘70s Show and the James bond connection.
That ‘70s Show was an American television period sitcom. It originally aired on Fox from August 23, 1998, to May 18, 2006. As the name explains, it was set in the 70s, from somewhat around 1976 to 1979. The sitcom focused on a group of six teenage friends. It was known to feature the stars who became popular in the 70s in form of cameo characters.

James Bond, the fictional character and series created by author Ian Fleming in 1953, debuted in movies for the first time in 1962 with “Dr. No”, starring Sean Connery. The movie legacy of Bond continues with the 25th movie in the franchise “No Time To Die”, starring Daniel Craig, waiting for the release.
Over almost half a decade a total of 7 different actors portrayed James Bond on big-screen, including Roger Moore and David Niven. A lot changed from movies to movies, the actors, the style, the age, even the Bond Girls changed, sometimes in the same movie.
However, what remained the same was his luck with the Bond Girls. No matter where he went and how old he looked in some movies, he always found the ladies who became Bond Girls the later night. And that’s where “That ‘70s Show” pulled off its unnoticed, but the perfect James Bond crossover.

Midge Pinciotti as a Bond Girl.
Tanya Roberts, who portrayed Midge Pinciotti in the show, acted as the link between James Bond and That ‘70s show. In Roger Moore’s last movie as James Bond, A View to a Kill, Tanya Roberts played Stacey Sutton, a steamy Bond Girl who James Bond couldn’t resist.
In the last scene of the movie when Bond and Stacey were together, in a way you would expect from 007 and a Bond Girl, they gave us some steamy memories to look back to. Thus, we remember Tanya Roberts as Midge Pinciotti and a Bond Girl even after so many years.
A Bond Girls’ reunion in That ‘70s Show.
We know we can’t really consider Tanya Roberts, the Bond Girl, starring as Midge Pinciotti in That ‘70s Show as a connection with the James Bond franchise. However, when multiple Bond Girls appear in one frame, then we can’t resist wondering about intentions of the makers.
In Episode 16th “The First Time” of the Second Season of the show, we saw several Bond Girls making an appearance. The show witnessed Bob and Midge recreating their wedding to have their vows renewed. In the wedding ceremony, Midge had several bridesmaids.
To be precise, Four Bond Girls were present in that wedding ceremony, including the bride herself. Maud Adams, who played the Bond Girl in The Man with the Golden Gun, and Octopussy. Kristina Wayborn, who also starred as a Bond Girl in Octopussy. And Barbara Carrera, who was the Bond Girl in Never Say Never Again.
With the four most popular Bond Girls sharing the same frame in That ‘70s Show, we wonder how we missed this James Bond crossover.
