Has the crazy inside world of sneaker fanatics been renewed or has Netflix decided to end the run of ‘Sneakerheads’?
Created and produced by Jay Longino, ‘Sneakerheads’ is one of the latest comedy shows that has been released on Netflix. As the name suggests, the show is about people who share a great passion for sneakers in the city of California, Los Angeles. It focusses on the passion that goes behind the hunt for the perfect pair of shoes that are also the rarest. The pleasure and sentimental value that one connects with when they get to own a priced possession is what ‘Sneakerheads’ is all about. If you are someone who has a passion for collecting something then you will surely see the show perfectly capture that emotion in its first season. ‘Sneakerheads’ also talks about how ridiculous the entire world of sneakers can be right from the day it gets launched to the evil resale market.

What is ‘Sneakerheads’ about?
The series revolves around the life of a stay-at-home father, Devin (Allen Maldonado), who is a former sneakerhead. Sneakerheads Season 1 begins with Devin’s best friend Bobby (Andrew Bachelor) offering him a scheme in which he can earn money in the quickest way. However, Devin soon finds himself in a trap and loses all his savings. He lands in a big debt of $5000. Devin lies to his wife Christine (played by Yaani King Mondschein) and tells her that the card on which the huge sum is charged has actually been stolen. This somehow buys him some more time to get the money back.
To recover from the debt, without letting his wife know, Devin decides to earn back his money by joining Bobby and rest of the sneakerheads. Together, they go on a hunt for the most exclusive and rarest sneakers known as the ‘Zeroes’. They are the holy grail of sneakers and if they are successful in finding them then it could change their lives forever. Much to Devin’s disappointment, things don’t go as planned. In the end, he decides to come clean to his wife and tells her everything. When Christine learns about Devin’s doing, she is beyond shocked, but eventually forgives him.
Apart from its comedy plotline, ‘Sneakerheads’ Season 1 was also appreciated for its excellent cinematography that works brilliantly in enhancing the experience of watching the series. The beautiful shots of the Los Angeles malls and some of the top sneakers like Parra Air Max 1s, Travis Scott Air Jordan IVs, Red October Air Yeezy 2s, Nike Mags, and Off-White Air Jordan 1s will entice you to buy a pair of sneakers for yourself.
When is season 2 releasing?
Season 1 of ‘Sneakerheads’ released on the 25th of September. It had six episodes with a time duration of only 20 minutes. There has been no news yet on whether the show has been renewed for a second season or not. But if Netflix decides to renew it for another season before the year ends, we might see its release around September 2021. We will also have to keep the current pandemic situation in mind. Many shows have faced a delay in their filming and production due to the global outbreak of coronavirus. Hence, we will have to be patient and wait for Devin’s sneaker story to unfold in a possible season 2 of ‘Sneakerhead’.
Who will be back in ‘Sneakerheads’ Season 2?
None of the involvement of the first season cast members has been officially confirmed. Despite that, if the show comes back with season 2, we can surely expect to see the main cast members. Allen Maldonado, who has previously worked on ‘Black-ish’ and ‘The Last OG’, will return as Devin and Andrew Bachelor as Bobby. Other actors that we are expecting to see return include Jearnest Corchado as Nori, Matthew Josten as Stuey, Yaani King Mondschein as Christine, Justin Lee as Cole, and Aja Evans as Gia. The show also features cameos of various celebrities such as Lil Rel, Jon Buscemi, Jerry Ferrara, Nick Young, Jason Mark Angsuvarn, and Mark L. Walberg.
After terribly failing to recover from the big debt of $5,000, season 1 of ‘Sneakerhead’ was left at an unresolved angle. Hence, given the plotline, we can expect Devin and Bobby’s antics to be explored more in the next season of ‘Sneakerheads’. Are you looking forward to season 2 of ‘Sneakerheads’?
