Mr Robot may have given its viewers a satisfying ending with the series finale in Season 4. But fans are quick in asking creator Sam Ellis to get the show back on screen again. Is season 5 a possibility?
As the 2010s ended, a lot of shows came to an end with it. Some made the cut to the next decade while some didn’t, but Mr Robot left its mark in the world of television with a niche not many shows are able to achieve. With its unique premise, new-age story-telling, and an unafraid cast and crew to back it up, Mr. Robot made its presence known and be appreciated.

- Will There Be A Season 5 For ‘Mr Robot’?
It looks like the show, which ended in 2019 after a four-season run, might be back on screen or so various reports suggest. Is there any truth to it?
What made the show different?
The Rami Malek-starrer cannot be compared to any show released in the 2010s. Maybe that’s the reason Mr Robot is considered a defining show of the previous decade. The show unabashedly displayed the reality of the world we live in.
Creator Sam Esmail’s first TV show encapsulates perfectly, the defining era that was the 2010s with its portrayal of wealth-inequality and late-stage capitalism.
How often do you watch a TV show take on episode after episode with nothing but dialogue, supported with the breakout star of the show Rami Malek (now an Oscar winner) and constructed into a no commercial break by Esmail, who made sure his viewers were on the edge of their seats throughout its entirety.
So, how and why did it end?
The end we never saw coming
Explaining the entirety of the show will take more than just a few hundred words, so let’s break it down into a simple and short recap.
In the entirety, we see Malek who plays Elliot Enderson, going from a hacker with a drug problem to a young man with dissociative identity disorder, a high school sweetheart to humanity’s last hope, and in the final season a detective who sticks his clues on the wall of an abandoned building in the hope of finding a pattern.
The series finale of Mr Robot poses the most important question that has made us stick with the hero, Elliot, from the beginning- Who is he? In one final plot twist, the audience learns the truth — Elliot Anderson is not who he believes. The Elliot we have known all this time turns out to be another personality made by Elliot to keep himself from harm.
A fifth season on the anvil?
Since the last episode of Mr Robot, Sam Ellis has maintained his word on the fact that the show will not be renewed any time soon. According to Ellis, the show ended with a perfect explanation to Elliot’s many personalities and the finale spoke very well for itself.
Having said that, Rami Malek is a much bigger name in Hollywood than he was when the series premiered and he clearly would rather pursue other projects while he still has the chance. (and we want that too!)
But who knows what the future holds for Mr Robot holds? After all, Elliot had us believe in things that weren’t real. So, how can we believe this really is the end for Mr Robot?
