‘Pose’ starts filming this October!
On October 5th, executive producer and co-creator of ‘Pose’, Steven Canals posted a picture with director Janet Mock. He wrote, “Here we go again!” It can be seen that the crew were given some customized treats and tote bags that have ‘Pose S3.2’ written on it.
Moore also took to Instagram with a caption: “She’s back.”
Ryan Jamaal Swain, who plays Damon, uploaded a video of himself dressed in a ‘Pose’ hoodie and wrote: “Y’all ready.”
Even though ‘Pose’ starts filming this October, it will probably take a while for the new episodes to be released.
COVID-19 could impact the upcoming plot of ‘Pose’
While ‘Pose’ starts filming this October, expect alterations in the upcoming script due to the ongoing pandemic. The creator and executive producer of the Golden Globe-nominated drama series Steven Canals confirmed:
“Things like kissing, we will likely forgo those moments. The place on our show where the biggest impact will be felt will be the ball scenes. Those scenes have 125 to 150 background actors. That’s tricky because that’s such an important and critical part of our show and the narrative. We’re just, only now, having conversations of, is there a world where we forgo these things? The politics of ‘Pose’ have always been upfront and centre, so in terms of the narrative of season 3 and the way we’re moving forward, I think it will inherently address what’s happening currently with COVID-19.”

Despite unveiling the 80s and 90s, the show will also be addressing the mayhem of 2020.
Who will return?
In an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter”, Canals confirmed that Aikens and Parr would return as series regulars in the third season alongside Rodrigeuz, Moore, Porter, Curiel, Swain, Dominique Jackson, and Hailie Sahar. In the second season of ‘Pose’, we saw Candy’s tragic death. However, we could see glimpses of her in the flashback scenes.
Jeremy Pope to join ‘Pose’
Co-creator of ‘Pose’ Ryan Murphy confirmed that Jeremy Pope will be joining the cast in season 3 of ‘Pose’. Pope earlier played the role of an aspiring screenwriter Archie in Netflix’s limited series ‘Hollywood’. “I’m really interested in him doing that one, two punch of ‘Hollywood’ as a gay person and ‘Pose’ as a straight one”, said Murphy.
A new House of Evangelista in season 3?
With the addition of new cast members and script changes suited as per the pandemic, there is a possibility of a new House of Evangelist in ‘Pose’.
In an interview with “Entertainment Weekly”, the producer of ‘Pose’ said, “I believe there will be a new House of Evangelista. I think that’s something that we could boldly say that Blanca will likely have new children in season 3. It makes sense—her children are grown. They’ll come and go. Family dinner may be bigger. I don’t know if Angel and Papi will have kids of their own. I don’t know what their home lives are going to look like. But I think that they’re also very tethered to one another, even though they go out and branch out and there may be new houses and all that good stuff”.
Some other developments that fans could expect according to Ryan Murphy include the hanging of the AIDS Quilt on the National Mall in D.C. and the HIV/AIDS medication cocktail that came around in 96’.
