Why was Clayne Crawford fired?
Clayne Crawford aka Martin Riggs, who captured the hearts of many with his stunning performance in the first two instalments of ‘Lethal Weapon’, left a hole in the hearts of his fans after the news of him being terminated from the show was announced. After months of ongoing tension on the set of the show, Fox made it public that Clayne will not be returning to the show.
But why was Crawford fired? Apparently, there were complaints against Clayne for creating an environment of emotional abuse and violence. This became clearer when Damon took to Twitter and explained the incidents to his fans. Wayan shared a video of an episode which was directed by Crawford. It was suggested that during the filming of the scene, Damon was hit at the back of his head from an effect that went wrong. From Damon’s caption, it became quite evident that he was balming Crawford for the injury and maintaining inadequate safety measures. He wrote, “#directedby@claynecrawford” and “#noapology”.
That was not it! Damon further shared that the entire cast and crew felt terrorised by Crawford’s presence. He even shared a photo of a sticker that other crew members placed on the set of Warner Bros, which read as follows,
“Clayne Crawford is an emotional terrorist”.
There was another violent incident pointed out by Damon in which Crawford “hit another actor in the mouth with a bottle of green tea and busted his mouth open”.

During the start of the filming of the third season, these incidents, quoted by Damon and other crew members, were already circulating in the market and, thus, to ensure the safety of all the team members, Fox decided to terminate Clayne Crawford from the show for his inappropriate and violent behaviour.
Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans were caught fighting on tape
In an exclusive video released by “Variety”, a behind-the-scenes fight between Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans made it more apparent that all is not glorious on the sets of ‘Lethal Weapon’.
In the audio, we can hear both the actors arguing about the injury at the back of Damon’s head when Crawford was directing the episode. There is more to the video as the actors were also heard using some curse words against one another.
This was the conversation in the video by “Variety”,
Crawford: “You know, I’ve seen [name deleted] handle hits better than you did yesterday.”
Wayans: “Suck my d–k.”
Crawford: “You know, that was the biggest p–y move I think I’ve ever seen.”
Wayans: “Yeah, I’m a p—y.”
Crawford: “A p–y. You’re the biggest crybaby p—y I’ve ever met in my life.”Wayans: “Well suck this pussy’s d–k.”
Crawford: “I mean, how does it feel to only be in the game because your f–king brothers are in the game?”
Wayans: “F–k you. F–k you.”
One of the crew members talked about this incident to “Variety”:
“He lost his cool and got angry. He should have handled it another way, sure. But we were all tired and angry.”
Will ‘Lethal Weapon’ return with season 4?
This news will surely come as a huge disappointment to all the ‘Lethal Weapon’ fans out there as the show will not make a comeback with season 4. According to “TV Line”, the action-fiction drama has been cancelled and will not return.
Well, the return of the show was quite uncertain even after the producers found Seann William Scott as the replacement for Clayne Crawford. But after the production started for season 3, Damons said that he would not return to the show after season 3’s 13 episode due to deterioration of his physical health; however, after certain rounds of talk, he agreed to leave after the completion of the entire season.
We don’t really blame the creators of the show for cancelling the series as, without Damon, the show would have felt a little incomplete.
