WarnerMedia has planned to build on the strength of ‘Impractical Jokers’, truTV’s flagship franchise. The company has reserved for the third season of ‘The Misery Index’ from TBS in addition to 10 more episodes of ‘Impractical Jokers: Dinner Party’ by truTV.
‘Impractical Jokers‘ is not ending soon. The popular series on truTV has just been renewed for a tenth season. ‘Impractical Jokers’ received an early renewal for its 10th season ahead of its ninth season premiere on truTV on February 4.

The series ‘Impractical Jokers’ stars Joe Gatto, James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn, and Sal Vulcano, collectively known as The Tenderloins comedy troupe. Production on season 9 of ‘Impractical Jokers’ starring The Tenderloins was resumed by late August 2020. The series, ranked in 2020 as cable’s No. 1 unscripted comedy, is produced by NorthSouth Productions with executive producers Charlie DeBevoise, Pete McPartland Jr., Gatto, Murray, Quinn, and Vulcano.
‘Impractical Jokers’ franchise renewal
‘Impractical Jokers: Dinner Party’ also spawned in the middle of the coronavirus-related Hollywood production shutdown. The 10 additional episodes are scheduled to air in the fall and will be filmed in the remote format. The cast will interact with each other and their beloved communities safely and hilariously.

Along with ‘Impractical Jokers’, Tenderloins are also a part of ‘The Misery Index’, which is currently in its third season at TBS. Hosted by Jameela Jamil, the game shows two contestants against each other, each teaming up with four Jokers. Gameplay involves rating and ranking miserable true stories to determine who has higher Misery Index ratings. The production of ‘The Misery Index’ Season 3 is set to begin this fall.
‘Impractical Jokers: The Movie’
2020 marked truTV’s first feature-length film ‘Impractical Jokers: The Movie‘, which debuted on 1 September 2020 at HBO Max. The film premiered in February 2020 and the film saw the highest weekly average of all major theatre releases with 2,6 million at 357 theatres per screen. In week two, the feature was extended to nearly 1,900 theatres, hitting franchise fans around the country.
The film follows a fictional story about humiliating high school life from the early nineties of four lifelong friends and comedians. The film showcases a fictional narrative with real-life incidents of over-the-top punishments and callbacks to classic moments in the series. Once the guys from the ‘Impractical Jokers’ hit the road, they will have to compete in hidden camera challenges for the chance to turn the clock back and find redemption. The film features Paula Abdul, Jaden Smith, and Joey Fatone.
