Netflix has renewed ‘Lucifer’ for a sixth and final season
‘Lucifer’ Season 5 hasn’t even dropped yet, and there’s already a season 6. Not bad for a show that was originally cancelled! The show was born on the broadcast network 20th Century Fox in 2016 and was to be cancelled before season 4 in 2018.
Netflix swooped in to revive the show, following a huge fan campaign called #savelucifer, thereby giving it a season 4.

Showrunners Joe Henderson and Modrovich said the campaign played a weighty part in Netflix’s decision to revive the show. The series is based on a DC comic title and stars Tom Ellis as the devil,
who grows bored with reigning over hell and abandons his post for Los Angeles, where he runs a nightclub and becomes a consultant to the LAPD.
Here’s what the official announcement looks like!
Which characters will make it to the final season?
D B. Woodside, who plays Amenadiel in the show, took to Twitter to announce that he will be a part of season 6 alongside directing an episode for the final season.
The lead, Tom Ellis aka Lucifer Morningstar also joined in by retweeting DB’s post to mention his excitement to be working with him both onscreen and offscreen. Although there will be plenty of actors who will join in for the final season, and since season 5 hasn’t been unleashed yet, we can only speculate as to who will make it undead to the last season.

A look at all the possible theories for season 6
While fans are intently waiting for the arrival of season 5 & 6, there are a number of theories that are popping up. The show has been a very sturdy performer and has gone on to become one of the longest-running Netflix series with an episode count similar to that of ‘Orange Is the New Black’.
Additionally, we aren’t clear on how many episodes season 6 will have, but whatever the count is, fans will be ecstatic considering it wasn’t even supposed to happen in the first place.
The end of season 4 saw Chloe Decker and Lucifer profess their love for each other. However, Lucifer chose to go back to hell leaving behind Chloe on earth, because according to Lucifer, the only way he could contain all the demons roaming on earth was by physically sitting on the hell-throne and keeping a watch over them.
Hence, according to a fan theory, Chloe will die in season 5 and will eventually end up as the queen of hell through her love for Lucifer in the next season.
While some believe that Chloe will begin to develop superpowers, others believe that Lucifer will return to earth as a mortal or Chloe will be granted the gift of immortality in hell. We can only hope that the show gets the beautiful finale that pays tribute to the show’s themes, the character’s journeys, and the devoted fandom that created it.
The only way these theories can be put to rest is by waiting for ‘Lucifer’ himself to come and reveal it! Until then, stream all the 4 seasons on Netflix.
