A look into The Big Bang Theory
Created and produced by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, the longest-running multi-camera comedy in TV history quickly became a massive asset for CBS. In no time after the debut of the show, it garnered a dedicated and loyal fan base that stuck on with it.
Featuring the quirky nerdy genius Sheldon, the show begins with Leonard and Sheldon, two physicists, living together. It’s only after a couple of seasons that we get to know the backstory of how they started living together. The show aired in syndication across the world and went on to collect 52 Emmy nominations, including 10 wins and 7 Golden Globes. The show made the cast among TV’s richest stars with upto a $1 million pay per episode.
After a 12-season run Jim Parsons was ultimately the one to say no to the show. “There was no factor; there was no situation that I was like, ‘Well, I’ve had enough of that.’ No. There was nothing like that. It was just…when you know, you know. And you’re susceptible and thrown around by the whims of your own existence and getting to a certain age and your life changes and suddenly you just think different,”
“It has been fascinating to think about who I was 12 years ago. And sometimes when I have trouble learning a line or saying a line of Sheldon’s right now, it’s hard to know why specifically. But it’s like, you’re not the same person you were. There is a possibility that this actually became more difficult for you in a way. And I don’t know what that means but it’s like you just change.”
The show ultimately came to an end because creator Chuck Lorre couldn’t imagine the show without Parsons.

Mayim Bialik talks about what she misses most about TBBT
In an exclusive with Fox News, the actress said that she was associated with The Big Bang Theory for almost a decade of her life, and she enjoyed every bit of it. She went on to talk about the job security that the show gave her and also about how thrilling it was for her to be employed for so long with something that she enjoyed doing with people that she loved working with.
Being a neuroscientist in real life, she loved working at a place where everyone understood her profession and appreciated her for her talent. Commenting on her relationship with the rest of the cast, she mentioned that it is difficult to be in touch with people, when the points that brought you together don’t exist anymore (The Big Bang Theory sets).
“I speak to Kevin Sussman who played Stewart, the comic bookstore owner. We are part of a role-playing game group, kind of like D and D. So, he and I are in touch. I talked to Melissa more often. Simon also. I wrote a screenplay and he let me cast him in it. So that’s good. We all have different kinds of relationships, but it’s very hard. We miss being together that way because you can’t recreate that.”
