Lucifer production has been stalled by COVID-19 Pandemic and Season 6 might not make it to our Netflix Screens.
Lucifer is one supernatural comedy-drama that has had a bumpy ride. After the show’s initial cancellation by Fox in 2018 after just three seasons, all seemed doomed. But fans outcry and an online petition made Netflix swoon in to save the day. Netflix renewed it for two more seasons to fans delight.
Highlights
- Tom Ellis aka Lucifer won’t let Season 6 happen
- Season 6: Yay Or Nay?
- Season 5: What To Expect

But it seems like the show just can’t catch a break and the problems continues for it from all avenues that it can and a breach of contract certainly doesn’t help things.
Is Lucifer going to find it’s one way ticket to hell or are we already there?
All Seems A Standstill For Lucifer
Although, the one thing we can be sure of is Season 5 of Lucifer gracing our screens, the date for that wold be uncertain. The world is fighting a crisis no one knows the end date to. And with that COVID-19 brought the production of the show to a standstill with only the series finale left to shoot.

The rocky nature of this show has left fans feeling rocky in their emotions as well. It was announced that Season 5 would be the final chapter of the series. And the feeling of unsettlement had just started to settle in when the news of a probable new season circled our interests right back in.
And no less than a deal with the lead Tom Ellis made the rumours spread around like wildfire.
So, where exactly do we stand now?
Season 6: Yay Or Nay?
Well, in a rocky relationship that hasn’t reached it’s end, all hell seems to be breaking lose (excuse us for the pun, it was needed) with Tom Ellis and Warner Bros.
Multiple sources have reported that Tom Ellis who plays the titular lead has problems with the Studio’s offer and has rejected the deal. This is a failure to honour an already existing contract he had signed with the Warner Bros.
Also, Warner Bros definitely have the upper hand here what with being a mega multi-million dollar production house but have still tried to get the actor to agree to come back on his terms. It wasn’t long ago when Ellis had mentioned that he was blown away by the love fans all over the world have shown to the show. So, why is this happening?
The reason for it remains to be unclear. It could be money or additional demands.
Season 5: What To Expect
Meanwhile, the only beacon of hope seems to be the upcoming season which we can expect late this year or early next year. And the fact that writers of the show have promised a season that we won’t be expecting at all.
Show-runners Modrovich and Henderson promised that to make it not boring for the fans and us we have kept this season really interesting. If you are thinking one thing another will happen.
While on the one hand we can’t wait for Season 5 to resume on the other hand our worries about Season 6 on the rocks with the confirmation seem to have found us in a conundrum. But that is what a rocky relationship with a fictional supernatural drama does to you, doesn’t it?
