It seems like all is finally well between Tom Ellis and Warner Bros and Lucifer Season 6 finally gets a green light.
Lucifer can’t catch a break. And being the King of Hell has nothing to do with it. The show Lucifer with 4 very successful seasons out and one the way has been having some serious trouble getting back on its feet. Lucifer Season 6 has been like the piece of price tag stuck on the bottom of your shoe that won’t come off no matter how hard you try. And, that is so, because Lucifer has faced some serious cancellation drama.
Highlights:
- No bad news for Lucifer after all
- Lucifer In deep hell
- Season 5 for Lucifer fans
The show was first cancelled by the Fox network and fans had to start an online petition to get it renewed. Netflix of course saved the day at the last moment and picked up the show for another two seasons. News for Season 6 hasn’t been sunny so far but fresh off the boat is news that Season 6 is officially back on!

No Bad News For Lucifer After All
The road to discovering if a season 6 of Lucifer is happening has been a bumpy one. And that is definitely a gross understatement. Due to the lack of belief in the continued success of Lucifer, Fox entertainment killed the show after three seasons. But doing that in the age when the audience is king and streaming apps are their holy well-wishers, the show was back on for another two seasons.
The comedy-drama Lucifer is the story of Lucifer Morning (played by Tom Ellis) the Lord of Hell. Bored with his job as Lord of Hell he retires to Los Angeles and starts his own upscale nightclub. A series of events leads to Lucifer working alongside a very attractive LAPD officer as they together solve a series of crimes on the streets of LA. The show stars Tom Ellis who has become a fan-favourite for portraying Lucifer and the actor knows that a lot of credibility of the show falls down on his shoulders. And if reports are to be believed, Ellis is taking that into full account while he signs a deal for Season 6.
Lucifer In Deep Hell
Progress for Season 6 was going well until it was brought to a startled halt by complications of a breach of contract between the Warner Bros and the lead of Lucifer Tom Ellis. Apparently, Ellis had some demands after he had already signed the contract for Season 6 and even though Warner Bros were bending forward and backward to please the actor, it wasn’t enough. And this was enough for Warner Bros to cancel the entire show. We did tell you it has been a rather off-the-road- kind of a bumpy ride.
But the good news is- Tom Ellis and Warner Bros have finally reached a settlement that suits both the parties. And that is nothing if not a cause for celebration at this point. The project finally has a green light and will go in production as soon as the film industry is back into production after the world has dealt from COVID-19.
