The Lord of Hell is up and running. Part 1 of Lucifer season 5 is streaming on Netflix and people are already anticipating part 2. Here’s everything you should know about the devil in action.
Netflix released the first half of season 5 of Lucifer in August. The network had taken the liberty of splitting the original 16 episode season into parts. Although the first part is out, fans are already growing impatient about the second part of the season. Part 1 of Lucifer season 5 contains 8 episodes, which means part 2 will comprise eight episodes as well. Tom Ellis has spilled the beans on the tentative release of the second part of the season, which we promise not to keep to ourselves.

Lucifer season 5 part 2 will be an emotional ride
Season 4 of Lucifer ended with Lucifer returning to Hell after Detective Chloe proclaims her love for him. The Devil rules over the underworld while his troublesome twin brother, Michael, decides to tear Lucifer’s life apart. Meanwhile, as Michael cooks up evil plans to destroy Lucifer and everyone he loves, a serial killer roams free on the streets of Los Angeles, which raises concerns in the life of Ella Lopez.

The finale of the first part of season 5 of Lucifer has opened up promising possibilities for part 2. Show-runners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich believe that part 2 of Lucifer season 5 will be an emotional ride. Henderson told “Entertainment Tonight”,
“Let’s just say that season 5B is our most emotional season of the series so far — our most emotional chunk for all of the darkness in 5A. Lightness is mixed in but I feel like 5A started a little darker. 5B will both be both brighter and even darker still and it’s always darkest before the dawn.”

Where will the story take the Devil?
In a shocking revelation, the finale of part 1 of season 5 introduced Lucifer and Michael’s father, God himself. The climactic scene where Lucifer and Michael go head-on against each other in some of the most impressive action sequences of the show, God interrupts the two with a typical fatherly “That’s enough”. The moment was arguably one of the most exciting in the history of series finales.
Talking about the iconic climax of the finale, Modrovich said, “The only thing we knew from the very beginning of the season is that when God came in, we did want it to feel like there’s this badass epic battle. Suddenly he’s walking in on his kids, you know, wrestling in the living room. And he’s like, “Children…” We wanted to diminish that moment into just brothers and sisters poking at each other.”
Meanwhile, the show-runners have been very generous in speaking about part 2 of Lucifer season 5. Part 2 will have Lucifer struggling to say the magic words to Chloe. Maze and the Devil will possibly try to mend their relationship, while there might be some resolution to Michael’s plans that have been on hold. Henderson also hinted at dedicating one episode completely to Dan. He said, “One of our episodes in 5B is an episode that really digs into Dan because Dan is the one character that we haven’t had an episode focused on… We have an episode that is all Dan all the time and it is glorious. It’s amazing and one of the things we love is we love torturing Dan as a character. I think that’s part of it too. Kevin is so funny when he plays Dan tortured that we lean into that, so that was a big part of it — just the fun of Dan suffering.”
Lucifer season 5 part 2 will be the perfect Christmas gift
Part 2 of season 5 of Lucifer will release sometime around Christmas as confirmed by the Devil himself. In a podcast, Tom Ellis candidly spoke about the release of the second part of the season. He said,
“The second eight episodes, I’m not sure when they’re going to drop because we’ve still got the finale. We were about halfway through it. So we go back, we start with that, and then we go straight into season six. So hopefully that’ll be ready to go, I would imagine, sort of Christmastime or early next year.”
The devil has promised that the wait won’t be long before part 2 lands on our lap. What are you most excited about the second part? Let us know in the comments below.
