Netflix has renewed its supernatural horror series Locke and Key for Season 2; a month after it debuted on its platform.
The supernatural horror series Locke and Key is an adaptation of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s best-selling graphic novel of the same name. The series revolves around the three Locke kids — Tyler (Connor Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones) and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott), who move into their ancestral mansion in Massachusetts after the gruesome murder of their father.
Sooner they discover a suite of magical keys that gives them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, the keys plunge them into a macabre supernatural battle between good and evil. Meanwhile, a devious demon also awaits the keys that will stop at nothing to attain them.

Long journey of Locke and Key
A show that has chanced itself towards a second season couldn’t find a place on Hulu, for nearly a decade. However, following an intense campaign to save the show, Netflix stepped in at the eleventh-hour rescuing the show in July, last year.
The formal news of the second season’s renewal comes much later. Cuse and Averill (the executive producers of the show) had been penning the script, for the now-official second season of Locke and Key, even before the series premiered on Netflix on February 7, 2020.

Locke & Key has captivated the audiences around the world with its jaw-dropping twists at every turn. And, therefore, it will be interesting to know what the makers have penned for Season 2.
Locke and Key Season 2 Release Date
The script of the second season of Locke and Key has already been drafted. Thus, after the COVID-19 lockdown is lifted and life crawls back to normalcy; the show will undergo its production phase. The 10-episode series will be filmed in Lunenberg, a port town in Nova Scotia, Canada, and will release in Spring 2021.

Netflix only renews those shows that follow great response and viewership on the preceding one. Since the streamer does not encourage ads on its platform and its only source of revenue is its subscription-based model, therefore only those series are renewed which resonates with the audiences. Hence, the new season will see the stakes grow higher, as the Locke siblings embrace themselves as the new Keepers of the Keys.

Season 2 Cast
Reprising their role in Season 2 we have — Darby Stanchfield as Nina Locke, Connor Jessup as Tyler Locke, Emilia Jones as Kinsey Locke and, Jackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke. The expected return of Petrice Jones as Scot Cavendish, Laysla De Oliveira as Dodge and, Griffin Gluck as Gabe is also anticipated in Locke and Key Season 2. However, you may expect new faces to join the cast of Netflix’s second installment of Locke And Key.
