MCU’s untitled ‘Spiderman 3’ is hyping up with new leaks and rumours every day – Marvel boss Kevin Feige has recently confirmed one such casting rumour – and that has changed everything.
MCU’s upcoming sequel to Tom Holland’s ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’ had to bear a lot of pressure initially. From the feud between Sony and Disney, to then production delays due to pandemic outbreak, everything led to many questioning the fate of the trilogy. However, with the release date set for December 2021, at least for now, the production has started gaining pace. As a result, plenty of leaks and rumours are floating on the internet, keeping the fans entertained. One of the rumours that broke the internet a few weeks ago carried a three Peter Parker theory for the upcoming MCU ‘Spiderman’ movie. Now, even Kevin Feige has almost confirmed the casting rumours related to the same theory on Tom Holland’s untitled ‘Spiderman 3’ movie.

Kevin Feige acknowledges MCU’s ‘Spiderman 3’ casting rumours
Disney and Marvel always put in torturous efforts to keep all the information on upcoming projects sealed. But nothing stays hidden from the fans. Last year one rumour broke out that freaked out not only MCU and Sony fan base but the entire superhero fan space.

Apparently, some insider leaks claimed that the upcoming MCU ‘Spiderman 3’ will have 3-Peter Parkers, as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will pick up on their roles of Spiderman from Sony’s ‘Spiderman‘ trilogy and ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ respectively, and will join Tom Holland’s Spiderman in MCU.
Kevin Feige caught red-handed revealing the truth about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield joining Tom Holland’s Spiderman in MCU.
The leaks seemed ridiculous until the reports of several actors from previous Spiderman movies joining the MCU’s untitled ‘Spiderman 3’ project started spilling out. Recently, Kevin Feige has also spoken about the rumours, and he didn’t refuse them. Does it mean something?
Electro, Doctor Octopus joins MCU’s ‘Spiderman 3’
While Sony tried to deny the 3-Peter Parker theory, several clues following the rumours diluted their efforts. In a statement to ET Canada last October, Sony said the Garfield and Maguire casting rumours “are not confirmed”.
However, in December, a marketing video posted by Sony Channel Latin America, which consisted of all three versions of Spiderman, simply busted the bubble. The video said, “Who is your favorite Spider-Man? You don’t have to choose — in the Marvel Multiverse, anything can happen” (Translated to English). Sony removed the video as quickly as possible, hence only strengthening the doubts.
Jamie Foxx, who played Electro in Andrew Garfield’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, mistakenly confirmed his entry in MCU’s ‘Spiderman 3’ with an Instagram post. In the later deleted Instagram post, Jamie wrote:
“Tell Spidey let’s run it back! … super excited to be part of the new Marvel Spider-Man new installment … can’t wait for you all to check the new one. And I won’t be blue in this one!! But a thousand percent bad*ss!!!”
The same possibility was also reported by “The Hollywood Reporter” previously.
Further recent reports by THR hinted at the possibility of Sam Raimi‘s 2004 ‘Spider-Man 2’ villain Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) joining the rumoured live-action Spider-verse in MCU.
So many casting rumours and leaks about MCU’s upcoming ‘Spiderman 3’ forced Kevin Feige to address them.
What Kevin Feige said about the casting rumours
Addressing the 3-Peter Parker theory in MCU’s upcoming Spiderman movie, Kevin Feige told “Comic Book”:
“I’ve read some things”, he says.
“I’m not sure I’ve read all things. The fun thing about online speculation when it comes to our stuff is how sometimes it couldn’t be more off the mark and sometimes it’s shockingly close, and that’s held true for the last few years. But saying which is which would take all the fun out of everything.”
While Kevin Feige didn’t absolutely confirm the casting rumours about ‘Spiderman 3’, he resisted denying them either. It might mean even if things aren’t confirmed, similar ideas are being discussed.
