The Hollywood industry has had multiple incidents of star couples getting ugly and rough with each other after separation. One such star couple relationship that has gone beyond the word ugly and created headlines in the past couple of months is that of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Making a narrative out of Depp’s texts
Amber Heard’s lawyers tried to gather the attention of the jury and the judge towards Johnny Depp’s habit of drinking, drug abuse, and his texts to his about Amber Heard, one of which involved wanting to kill and defile her.
Heard’s lawyers did not just stop there. They went on to highlight Johnny Depp’s troubled past. It included trashing hotel rooms and breaking a bathroom light amidst a heated argument with Heard.
Amber’s lawyers are trying their best to falsify Depp’s defamation case against Amber Heard. Johnny Depp filed a lawsuit against her for portraying her in a fraud way as a domestic abuser and spoiled his successful acting career. They argue that Depp did indeed abuse Heard, both physically and sexually, and claim that Depp can’t deny it because he was often drunk and high on drugs to blackout.

Amber’s lawyers showed to the jurors how Depp, in a text to his friend and actor Paul Bettany in 2013, said that he pounded and showed ugly colours to Amber Heard during a recent journey.
The text continued with Depp telling Bettany how he is an insane human and not so mentally conscious after having too much to drink. The text also mentioned Depp saying that he consumed weed, pills, and booze.
J. Benjamin Rottenborn, Heard’s lawyer, also mentioned another exchange between Depp and Bettany that year in which Depp wrote:
“Let’s burn Amber”!!!
The ‘Let’s Burn Amber’ text controversy
Paul Bettany replied to this text from Depp by suggesting to not burn her. Depp then texted him that Amber should be drowned first and then be burnt and that he would make coitus with her burnt corpse to ensure she’s deceased.
As a reply to this showdown of his old texts, Depp asked the jury to pardon him for the use of vulgar language in the abovementioned texts and that he did so in the heat of the moment as he went to dark places.

Heard’s lawyers claimed that these texts were sent while Depp was on a private flight from Boston to Los Angeles. Heard claimed that Depp was pitch blank drunk during that flight and assaulted her.
Depp denied such claims as he said he only had a glass of champagne as he boarded the flight. This argument went back and forth with the series of allegations and testimonies, etc.
How Is the internet reacting to Depp-Heard trial?
The people of the internet mostly have sided with Johnny Depp as the Pirates of the Caribbean fame opened up about what sort of trauma and assaults were caused to him by his ex-wife Amber Heard with the proof of voice recordings in which Amber Heard is clearly audible confessing that she did not punch him and she just hit him. Since the netizens have sided with Johnny Depp and have been wishing that he gets justice. This trial has also sparked debate about how men are also victims of assaults. If a well-known and wealthy individual must endure such ordeals to receive the justice he deserves. So, how would a common man without power or money handle such a situation?
