What can fans expect from season 4?
The third season’s finale was a bang for the show’s fans as they were taken to Jonathan Nolan’s rendition of the Los Angeles of the future, outside of the park and face to face with a broad view of the world. The stunning finale left fans with burning questions. The creators have hinted that the show might be expanding its world and take its fans outside the park and into the real world, in which Westworld are set. Something that might sadden the fans is that Nolan has confirmed that Dolores has, in fact, died and will not be coming back the next season. And yes, despite the rumours, Nolan and Lisa Joy will be back as producers and show-runners in the future. Nolan has also hinted at the possibility of the show shifting to a simpler and linear storytelling format to help the audience keep up with the expansion of the show’s universe.

What has happened in the show so far-
In the first season, viewers are taken to an American wild-west-themed amusement park operated by Delos Incorporated. The park is inhabited by artificially created “hosts” who serve and adhere to all fantasies of the “guests”. The hosts are built to be as real as possible and most importantly, harmless to human visitors. A new system update causes two hosts Dolores and Maeve to gain sentience, the “Man in Black” goes on a killing spree to find a maze hidden in the park and Bernard Lowe, the project lead finds out that he himself is a host. In season 2, a sentient Dolores turns all other hosts against the guests and humans and manages to fight them off and escape to a place called “sublime”, which is inaccessible to humans. In the third season, Dolores faces off against the AI called Rehoboam and its creator Engerraund Serac. Bernard is held responsible by the entire world for the massacre at Westworld Park. The third season ends with Dolores sacrificing herself to corrupt the AI Rehoboam after failing to take it down.
