Will there be season 12 of Garry Marshall’s ‘Happy Days’?
‘Happy Days’ Season 1 premiered in 1974 and season 11 followed suit 10 years later. For a new season to happen, there are so many factors that need to be considered such as plot, ratings, critics’ reviews, and most importantly, the availability of the cast. Though Garry Marshall’s ‘Happy Days’ holds a 7.4 IMDb rating and has excellent reviews, it is very late to expect a new season.
We mean, what are the odds of a new season of a 35-year-old series happening? Even if it is given the green light, you will have to wait for a couple of years for the new season to air. At the moment, however, there are no official announcements regarding a new season.
‘Happy Days’ to get the Netflix treatment.
Ted McGinley, who played basketball coach Roger Philips in Garry Marshall’s ‘Happy Days’, hopes that Netflix will make the sitcom their next revival project. But, we guess, this is something that is not happening any time soon, for it was in 2017 that Ted said ‘Happy Days’ should come back, and now, it is 2020. That must be our cue!
All we know is that Ted has been brainstorming plot lines for a potential reboot, but clearly, he has not been successful yet.
How long it will take for ‘Happy Days’ Season 12 to finally hit the screens?
What has Ted got to say about the show’s reboot?
In AARP’s Movies for Grownups Awards in Beverly Hills, here’s what Ted McGinley said to the “New York Daily News“:
“Happy Days should come back — one hundred percent. It would be fun to see what Fonzie is today, right? It would be fun to see all those stories. I would give anything just to watch that. Henry is a force and he’s one of the most loved characters in America.”
“Just as a human being, people love Henry Winkler — he’s a very generous guy and he’s fun to watch. The Fonz is a part of who he is, and if you asked him to do it, in two seconds he can get it back.”
“I have a theory that Fonzie’s kids would probably have ended up being very well educated and the ones who were really on top of the heap. Their kids would probably not be attending school, and they would be going toward car repair and Fonzie’s world. Things flip after a while, right?”
A new season of Garry Marshall’s ‘Happy Days’, if it ever happens, will most likely pick up from the last season’s nuptial ceremonies. Do you want a new season of this sitcom? How excited would you be? What do you expect to see in the new season? Let us know in the comments section!
