Renewal status of ‘Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings’ Season 2
The feel-good anthology series tells various stories across different time periods. The stories are based on Parton’s vast library of music. The first season premiered in November 2019.
‘Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings’ was also nominated for an Emmy for “These Old Bones” in the category of “Outstanding Television Movie”.
Netflix has yet to officially announce a second season. The closest news to a renewal came in August 2020 at PaleyFest LA. A new season was teased and even said to be happening, but still, no official announcement was made.
Sam Haskell told “Deadline“: “Netflix wants to continue with us.”

Particularly with COVID-19 disrupting most of the filming schedules, scripts are being written, but it may be a while before any type of filming gets underway.
Given the series will no doubt keep its anthology genre, what we can expect in the next season will depend on which songs get picked and, it’ll have a brand new cast list per episode, again.;
