If you are a DCEU fan, you must be obsessed with watching Henry Cavill flexing in the Superman costume. But what if he is no more the Superman anymore?
Neither DC fans and nor Cavill fans want to see Henry Cavill getting replaced as DCEU’s Superman. The fact is, even after almost an entire decade of being Superman, Henry Cavill got to lead only one movie in DCEU. But still, his tiniest glimpse in the skin of one of the most iconic superheroes of all time has the glow to light up the screens. Thus, fans want more of him. But it seems like WB has decided to move on from Cavill’s Superman. Even though the current storyline of DCEU simply can’t survive without his Superman.

Snyder had major plans for Cavill’s Superman
By now it’s confirmed that ‘Snyder Cut’ was the end of Snyderverse and with it the end of Zack Snyder’s vision for DCEU. The current DCEU canon was built by Snyder, initiating from ‘Man of Steel’ and concluding with ‘Justice League Snyder Cut’.
However, the initial plans of Snyder were much more elaborate and far-reaching. Those plans included a Justice League sequel, a Cyborg movie, a Man of Steel sequel, and more. However, Snyder has recently teased what could have been the future of Henry Cavill’s Superman in his version of DCEU.
In an interview with ComicBook Debate, Snyder revealed:
“In the end, the idea is that or what I had planned is that, you know, the sort of final step of Superman is his real return or his real sort of coming into the classic Superman. We don’t really get it in [Justice League].”
Snyder revealed that the original plans were of 5 movies in Snyderverse, heavily focusing on Cavill’s Superman and his return to the classic comic book superman.
The DCEU to dust without Henry Cavill’s Superman
The current DCEU consists of several movies from Snyderverse, including acclaimed movies like ‘Aquaman’ and the first ‘Wonder Woman’. However, the Snyder trilogy has worked as the backbone of the DCEU. And Superman had been the driving force of it all.
Even in the ‘Snyder Cut’, which was to serve as the canon for the DCEU future, we saw Superman’s story, and his revival served as the motif to all the character’s storylines. Furthermore, the entire DCEU Knightmare storyline was to be set around Henry Cavill’s Superman.
We have seen the awkward face-cut appearance of Superman in ‘Shazam’ in the absence of Cavill. Nobody wants to see DCEU pull off such a joke again. With Black Adam all set to storm his way into DCEU, it was expected that he would face off with Cavill’s Superman at one point.
All possibilities in DCEU around one of the greatest superheroes in DC are turned to dust with Henry Cavill’s Superman exit. It has already affected and will affect many more coming projects of the cinematic universe. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments below.
