After a super successful Season 3, fans are curious to know whether or not the globally receipted series Babylon Berlin will have a fourth season.
Babylon Berlin; a story dependent on a book series is a perfect work of art, crime and drama. Set in 1929, the series is influenced from novels penned by German author Volker Kutscher.

The show takes place in Berlin during the Weimar Republic and follows Gereon Rath, a police inspector on an assignment. Gereon is heading a discreet mission to dismantle an extortion ring and unmask the true intentions of Charlotte Ritter; a police clerk by day and a flapper by night. Ritter is also an aspiring police inspector in the series.
Babylon Berlin Season 4 confirmation
The globally receipted show will indeed be returning for its fourth installment, co-creator Henk Handloegten has confirmed. Handloegten has said he is currently at the writing stage of Babylon Berlin Season 4. The man is busy preparing the script with his fellow creators Tom Tykwer and Achim von Borries, and two new female writers.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Henk said, “Of course we are faster and we wanted the female input.” He added, “We hope if everything goes well, we will shoot next year again.”
Thus, work for Season 4 is in full force. However, there’s no official update from Babylon Berlin team on Season 4’s renewal, but it is most certainly happening.

Babylon Berlin Season 4 Plot and Release Date
Volker Kutscher’s third book named Goldstein will be the fourth season of Babylon Berlin. According to the book, the fourth season will follow an American gangster called Abraham Goldstein.
As of now, there has been no update on the Babylon Berlin Season 4’s release date. But we believe only once the show is officially re-ordered and sent for production, can we expect its release date.
Meanwhile, the showrunners plan a yearly launch for each season. And since there’s ample amount of time left before we arrive in 2021, you can expect the fourth season to release in January next year. (following the previous years’ release)

Story so far
The first season showed us Gereon Rath, a combat veteran of the Imperial German Army and a newly transferred policeman struggling from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). He secretly self-medicates in order to suppress his ‘survivor’s guilt’ over the loss of his brother and his World War I experience.
He then meets a sensual lady Charlotte, who turns herself into a prostitute by the evening in order to sustain her family. Meanwhile, Season 3 was more about how Charlotte and Bruno help Gereon understand the porno ring that runs in the city of Berlin; where drugs and corruption are rampant in the system. Thus, it will be interesting to know where the storyline of the fourth installment is headed.
