With the world shrugging off the memories of 2020 and moving towards a new year, can fans expect Netflix to bring back ‘The Ranch’ with the cast of ‘That ‘70s Show’?
This year forced us to witness a lot of terrible things. One such thing was ‘The Ranch’ ending after its final season. However, as the world is beginning to revive, there’s only one expectation ‘The Ranch’ fans have i.e. to see a season 5 with a complete cast of ‘That ‘70s Show’. Even though this demand of the fans isn’t new and has been around for about four years now. The hopes of getting ‘The Ranch’ reboot is getting stronger now.

‘That ‘70s Show’ and ‘The Ranch’, both are a few of the greatest sitcoms in the history of American television. For the fact that both the shows share a lot in common, including the cast, the fans of ‘The Ranch’ and ‘That ‘70s Show’ want a reunion. One of the greatest period sitcoms ever, ‘That ‘70s Show’ debuted on TV in August of 1998. With eight years of a successful run, and 8 terrific seasons consisting of 200 episodes, ‘That ‘70s Show’ concluded in May 2006.
‘The Ranch’, often acclaimed as the revival of ‘That ‘70s Show’, debuted on Netflix in April 2016. The show had a successful run of 4 seasons, premiered in 8 parts. It concluded with the final and 8th part premiering in January 2020. Even though ‘The Ranch’ claimed tremendous popularity, several incidents, such as sexual harassment complaints against Masterson, resulted in an uneven path for the show.
Fans of ‘The Ranch’ were heartbroken over the news of the show ending in 2020. Many believe that the show has still got tremendous potential to scale up to many more seasons. Thus, a season 5 of ‘The Ranch’ with ‘That ’70s Show’ cast is definitely possible.
Why the reunion with ‘That ‘70s Show’ cast?
‘That ’70s Show’ played a major role in the initial popularity of ‘The Ranch’. Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson, two of the most popular stars of the 2000s, especially for ‘That ‘70s Show’, reunited as the lead stars and co-producers to bring you ‘The Ranch’. ‘The Ranch’ thrived on the pedigree of ‘That ‘70s Show’. And because the connection was established from the get-go, fans couldn’t resist but ask for more.
Throughout its 8-part run, ‘The Ranch’ made several references to ‘That ‘70s Show’ with the help of several recurring cast members from the period sitcom. Wilmer Valderrama, Kurtwood Smith, and Debra Jo Rupp are a few of the popular names from ‘That ‘70s Show’ who appeared in ‘The Ranch’.

Ashton Kutcher on the future of ‘The Ranch’
The fans are desperately waiting for ‘The Ranch’ to return with the complete cast of ‘That ‘70s Show’. However, the show’s lead and executive producer Ashton Kutcher doesn’t share the same excitement. As per the ‘Two and a Half Men’ star, ‘The Ranch’ has come to an end which is most suitable and best. He doesn’t see the show being revived for any further seasons.
While discussing the future of the popular Netflix sitcom on WTF With Marc Maron podcast, Kutcher said: “The story [of The Ranch] was told.”
He continued: “I love everything that we did. Everybody there was still highly in love with each other … We got to the point where we were able to let everybody know [that] this was the last season, and that we were going to wrap it up, so everybody had time to find their next gig.”
For whatever reasons Kutcher doesn’t want to return with ‘The Ranch’, one thing is sure that the fans will be extremely disappointed on not getting to see a reunion with the cast of ‘That ‘70s Show’.
