The first season of Castle Rock premiered on July 25, 2018, on Hulu, and received all the screams from the audience. Following the success of the first season, creators Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason renewed it for a second season later in the year.
The second season premiered on October 23, 2019. It not only made fans scream, but also gasp with shocking revelations about the characters and story.
Though there has been no announcement for a third season yet, it’s not something to worry about, as the creators have revealed what they have in plan for the series moving ahead.
Pennywise is trying to creep into season 3 of Castle Rock by Stephen King.
We all know Pennywise, or It, and now we are worried that he’s planning to appear in season 3 of the Castle Rock based on the works of Stephen King.
The series is set in Stephen King’s fictional town of Castle Rock in Maine woodland. This town has been the setting for various King’s fictional horror novels and stories.
Thus, the series picks up or imitates the characters and stories based in that town and brings them together in one storyline, or multiple storylines eventually revolving around the town, to work as an anthology. This is a road towards bringing Stephen King’s multiverse from the novels to the screen.
This also includes bringing the familiar faces from previous Stephen King’s movies or series to the Castle Rock series either as the same character or another.
On the lines of the same idea, Thomson revealed to the Collider about their plans for the series.
He said, “The plan was always to have an interconnected set of stories and, while every season would be its own launching point, there would be this fabric of Stephen’s multiverse if you will, that always bubbled beneath it, and unity to the stories that existed.”
The Kid is Pennywise from It?
Is The Kid really the devil in Castle Rock? To be sure of that, we first need to know his real identity. Though he has claimed that he is Henry Deaver from an alternate timeline. Yet, his identity is mysterious to the fans and the characters in the show.
The Kid (Bill Skarsgård), also known as The Angel or The Devil, isn’t a direct imitation of some Stephen King character in Castle Rock but is portrayed by the same actor who played Pennywise in 2017 film It.
Fans theorize that even though the character is new for now, he’ll eventually be revealed as some Stephen King character. And the first bet is that The Kid is Pennywise or the clown.
Why do fans believe in Pennywise and The Kid theory?
It’s obvious why fans believe that The Kid in Castle Rock is Pennywise from It by Stephen King.
First, both the characters are played by the same actor, Bill Skarsgård. Considering that the movie It was released only a year before Castle Rock, casting the same actor can’t be a coincidence.
Second, The Clown or Pennywise is known for his shapeshifting ability. Thus, being disguised as The Kid is no big deal for him.
Third, as The Kid claims, and we know, he was confined in Shawshank Prison for 27 years. This defiantly connects to how Pennywise appeared in Derry after 27 years.
Fourth, the whole purpose of this series is to connect the stories by Stephen King. And what’s better than revealing that The Kid was the clown from It?
Do you also believe that The Kid and Pennywise by Stephen King are the same devils in Castle Rock?
