Hollywood actor Ben Affleck recently decided to hit back at the news websites that falsely claimed that he blamed his marriage with ex-wife Jennifer Garner for turning to heavy drinking.

But this time, it was Ben Affleck, who unfortunately was singled out by such news sources. It made false claims about Ben blaming his marriage with Jennifer Garner in part for his alcoholism.

‘The Tender Bar’ fame Ben Affleck gave these news websites or sources backlash. He did so by explaining his statement and citing the true cause of his drinking problem.
During an interview with Howard Stern last December, Affleck stated that the sole reason behind his divorce from Garner was that the marriage was not working. He went on to say that it happened and he loved her, but he could not stay married to her any longer as the marriage was not working anymore. Affleck also mentioned that he attempted to rescue his marriage for the sake of his children, but he could not leave because of his children. He went on to admit that all he did was finish an entire bottle of scotch and sleep on the couch. He also confessed that this manoeuvre of his would have continued had he stayed married to Garner.
These remarks led many to believe that Ben Affleck was blaming his ex-wife Jennifer Garner for his alcoholism.
How did Ben Affleck react to this scenario?
On the very next day of his interview with Howard Stern, Ben Affleck attended Jimmy Kimmel’s show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ as a guest. He explained that the media manipulated his words to make it seem like he was blaming Garner and that it hurt him.
He explained to Jimmy how he and Howard discussed various topics such as alcoholism, real-life struggles, being accountable for things, and loving. He added how he maintains a healthy relationship with his ex-wife. Both of them are working hard for their children’s future.
Ben also stated that he was thrilled with his interview with Howard Stern and felt like being honest about things, doing more self-introspection, and expressing himself more in future interviews. But after seeing people’s reactions on Twitter, he was spellbound.
He began by describing how one website took his words from the interview and presented them in an entirely different context. As a result, what Ben Affleck actually said in his interview with Howard Stern was manipulated. He stated that this particular website stated that he completely blamed his ex-wife for his alcoholism and that he was trapped in that marriage, making Ben appear to be the bad guy in the marriage.
So because Ben Affleck felt trapped in his marriage to Jennifer Garner he started drinking and then sleeping with the nanny (he left the nanny bit out).

Ben also emphasised that the websites and people who were criticising him for his interview with Howard Stern had forgotten that he and Garner respect each other. They care about their children, care about each other and want to maintain a healthy relationship. But these particular websites and people did not pay attention to these words spoken by Ben or knowingly ignored them to get views and retweets at Ben’s expense.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner made their relationship public back in 2004 and tied the knot the next year. Affleck and Garner got divorced in the year 2018. Ben went to rehab for his serious drinking problem the same year. ‘Good Will Hunting’ actor has even called his divorce with ex-wife Garner the biggest regret of his life.
As of now, he is dating his ex-fiancée and the famous American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez. Affleck and Lopez confirmed their relationship in June last year.
