Why does Ashton Kutcher feel ‘The Ranch’ will never be revived for another season? Let’s get to know what he has to say.
‘The Ranch’ is an original Netflix series that first premiered in April 2016. It focussed around Ashton Kutcher as Colt Bennett who was a mediocre football player. Later Colt had to return to help his dad Beau (Sam Elliott) fix the financial condition of their family cattle ranch in the small town of Garrison, Colorado. There he also meets his high school love again, Abby (Elisha Cuthbert). But is always under the radar of his suspicious mother, Maggie (Debra Winger). The former season also had Danny Masterson as Colt’s older brother Rooster. Due to personal legal troubles, Masterson’s character was written off from the show. Ashton Kutcher kills hopes on ‘The Ranch’ reboot
Ashton Kutcher spoke about the cancellation of ‘The Ranch’ on the ‘WTF podcast with Marc Maron’. He mentioned how the cast and crew were made aware that the series was coming to an end. It gave them ample time to prepare for the end of the show, which according to Kutcher was well-loved by everyone.
“The story of ‘The Ranch’ was told. I love everything that we did. Everybody there was still highly in love with each other. We got to the point where we were able to let everybody know that this was the last season and that we were going to wrap it up, so everybody had time to find their next gig.”
He also explained that many networks choose to extend the life of a series to meet the prescribed number of episodes for syndication which is not a consideration for a streaming series.
He also poked fun at his stint on the popular CBS sitcom ‘Two and a Half Men‘ while relating it with ‘The Ranch’.
“I have been on shows where you keep going, and you keep going, and then you have got a brother who is a gorilla.”
Sadly, Ashton Kutcher has killed all hopes of ‘The Ranch’ reboot.

‘The Ranch’ ending
The last ten episodes of ‘The Ranch’ Part 8 were released on 24th January 2020 on Netflix. The sitcom has been divided into four seasons. Every season has two parts and ten episodes each. Sadly, ‘The Ranch’ was cancelled with part 8. The news was announced in June 2019 by Ashton Kutcher who plays the role of Colt Bennett on the show. According to several reports, the popular sitcom had always planned to end the show with season four, since it began in 2016. The last episodes of ‘The Ranch’ united us again with ex-football player Colt and his family in Colorado.
The end of part 7 of ‘The Ranch’ left us wondering who was in Nick’s trailer. It turned out to be Mary’s daughter, Heather. She confesses to Colt immediately and tells him what she had done in the trailer. Colt then rushed back to the trailer, and he found out that Nick was already dead, which was true.
Later, Heather planned to turn herself in. Before she could so, her mother, Mary, went to the police station and admitted to killing Nick. Hence, saving her daughter from going to jail. In the finale episode, we find out that Mary was given a plea deal. She ended up taking it to avoid a long sentence.
Part 8 also saw Colt and Abby reunite and were gearing up to welcome another child in their lives. Beau and Joanne were forced to leave the Iron River Ranch. They tried finding a new home. Thankfully, Colt came to their rescue and saved the ranch too. Strangely, part 8 was also about cow STDs. Colt found out that some of his cows had STD that were the cause of miscarriages.
