What can we expect from Season 10?
After all these years, we have realized that half the fun of every new instalment of the campy, terrifying series is in the mystery behind it as Murphy employs regular cast members and puts them in entirely new, but always spooky, settings.
Which naturally brings us to the question: what could be the theme of season 10? As of now, the theme of season 10 is yet to be officially announced, with Murphy and his creative team keeping their cards close to their chests.
In November last year, Murphy confirmed that he “flirted with aliens” and “flirted with (setting the season in) space”. But, ultimately, he suggested that ‘American Horror Story’ would not be going intergalactic next season.

“It would be hard because it’s called ‘American Horror Story’ and you’d have to stay within the legal soil limits in order to make that work”, he told an entertainment portal.
In December, last year, Murphy did suggest that the witches from Coven in Apocalypse would reappear in a future season. “We have something really fun planned”, he said.

In May 2020, Murphy announced that the coronavirus pandemic may force him to change his original plan for AHS Season 10. He had claimed that his first idea relied on the possibility of a shoot in summer, which clearly couldn’t happen.
In an interview, he said,
“Well I don’t know, because a lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment, it was a weather-dependent show”.
“So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do. I don’t know what I’m gonna do next with that show. I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait till next year to shoot this one”.
Who can we expect to see in this season?
Seems like the Emmy winning actress Jessica Lange, who once was a regular in ‘American Horror Story’ episodes will not be making a return with the new season. She is nowhere to be seen in the Season 10 teaser released by Murphy on his Instagram.
After her initial departure, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, both of who became even more important to the show.
So, keep an eye for these confirmed returnees who will be reprising their roles: Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Kathy Bates, Angelica Ross, and Finn Wittrock.
When will ‘American Horror Story’ Season 10 premiere and will it stream on Netflix?
At this point, there’s no confirmed premiere date and it’s pretty hard to say when the series will return since the Covid-19 pandemic crippled the production team of the show. Murphy insisted on Instagram that the cast and crew hope to be back shooting as soon as they can. But, for now, it looks like everything is up in the air.
If everything goes well and the show starts filming sooner than later, it’s possible that it could be on track for a fall release this year as the series is typically known to return in September/October, and might finish filming the final episodes as the season airs.
The series enjoys a reputation of releasing episodes when the spooky season rolls around every year. As for if the show will arrive on Netflix: Netflix typically begins streaming each season of ‘American Horror Story’ a little over a year after its FX/FOX airing – so you can probably expect the 10th season to arrive on it at some point in 2022.
How many episodes will it carry?
According to reports, AHS Season 10 is confirmed for 10 episodes. Even if it is not the highest count for a season AHS, it’s what the show’s been averaging in recent year with ‘Apocalypse’ and ‘Roanoke’. However, ‘AHS: 1984’ came in with only nine episodes.
Will Season 10 be the last?
For a typical show, ten seasons may be a lot, but if you’re worried that might mean this will be the AHS series’ last, don’t be. In January this year, a leading entertainment website reported that FX renewed the long-running show for at least up to 13 seasons.
It may not come off as a surprise given AHS makes for the network’s highest-rated series. It would not make sense for showrunners to not let it reach its full potential.
