A bizarre and farce comedy show with a strong platonic friendship at the centre stage and cast of an eccentric ensemble of actors to set the wheel spinning; 30 Rock is more than just an implicit love story.
Since the show’s debut in 2003, 30 Rock has stretched over 7 seasons airing its final one in October 2012. However, it was a year later that Alec Baldwin announced that he will be cancelling the show from running its future seasons due to a ‘creative decline’.
But there’s more than meets the eyes.
Alec Baldwin wants to do 30 Rock Season 8
Alec asserted that he offered to take a twenty per cent pay-cut to keep his NBC comedy running for Season 8. As 30 Rock drew to an end with 13-episodes, the show’s main actor is saying he still wants more.
According to Hollywood Reporter Baldwin said, “I offered NBC to cut my pay 20 percent in order to have a full 7th and 8th seasons of 30 Rock.” He added, “I realize times have changed.”
Thus, 30 Rock Season Eight could have been an achievable dream, had NBC supported Alec’s vision.
