Steve Irwin’s son feeds the same crocodile at the same place as his dad 15 years apart
Steve Irwin died at age 44 in September 2006, while filming an underwater scene for a television series. A stingray’s stinging barbs pierced his heart. His daughter, Bindi, was just 8 years old at the time, and his son, Robert, was 3 years old.
But his love of wildlife still lives on through his fans and his family. Robert, the son of the original crocodile hunter, posted an identical side by side image of him and his father feeding the same crocodile 15 years apart.
The heartwarming images show 15 years old Robert, dressed in his dad’s signature khaki shorts, button up shirt and boots.
Robert was even wearing a similar watch that his dad used to wear when he was alive.
Both the Irwins fed the same crocodile in front of a crowd in the uncanny snap.
Robert captioned his tweet, “Dad and me feeding Murray… same place, same croc – two photos 15 years apart.”
The picture was interestinglyc taken at the exact same location and from the same angle, and with the same crocodile.
Robert said, “I think now, even more so than when Dad was around, our wildlife is really being depleted as such an incredibly rapid rate. I think it’s important that we can learn to love and respect all animals and natural places, not just the cute and cuddly creatures”.
But Robert is not the only one maintaining the empire his dad created, as the entire family continues to advocate for the wildlife of the world, including his wife Terri and daughter Bindi.
Social media followers were quick to praise Robert for paying tribute to his father.
One user wrote, “I can honestly say Steve is very proud you are filling his shoes! You are continuing his journey where he left off! You should be very proud. Know we are so very proud of you!”
Other user tweeted “Can’t begin to imagine how proud he would be Robert,”.
Steve Irwin’s entire family is known for their extraordinary animal conservation work in many countries.
