Kent has brought in SRK as Brand Ambassador to propel its entry into the untapped Automotive Security segment in India
Kent, India’s market leader in water purification, is all set to storm the unexplored “Automotive Security Segment” with the launch of its new product offering ‘Kent CamEye’.
Kent has roped in Bollywood’s ace superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the brand ambassador for the new segment to woo the mostly male dominated customer base.
Whilst Hema Malini has been the brand ambassador for its RO water purifier product line for years now, Kent Chairman and MD Mahesh Gupta said it needed a fresh face to target male customers. He said:
“The product, which is due to launching shortly, is an automotive security product. It will target male consumers and hence the decision to rope in Shah Rukh Khan,”
The product aims to revolutionize an untapped automotive security market in India
In the simplest words for the masses, the product would be a next-gen security device that will provide cutting-edge vehicle safety solutions. The first of its kind car security device for vehicles and its passengers uses dual cameras to record everything happening inside and outside the car.
“The automotive security segment is untapped and has huge potential, even globally. We may eventually take the product globally too.”
It also allows live video streaming of either camera, from anywhere in the world. The product will help a user to track the real-time GPS location of the car and playback the route travelled by car. It ensures safety in chauffeur driven cars and prevents the misuse of car by drivers.
“I congratulate Dr. Mahesh Gupta for the innovative product, which was much needed and will bring a new dimension to passenger safety on Indian roads. I envisage CamEye to be a great fit in the growing networks of cab aggregators across cities.” – Deepak Kaistha
The product is expected to be priced around Rs. 18,000. It will be sold via multiple channels including online through e-commerce giant Amazon, direct sales and also through distributors across the country. Gupta, excited by the perceived potential of the product, hopes to take it globally on the back of success in India.
As per a statement from the company, the product launch is speculated to take place by the end of March 2019.
