About Cyberpunk 2077
An open-world, action-adventure Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the backdrop of Night City, a megalopolis in the free state of California. Obsessed with power, glamour and body modification, the city is set in a dystopian future 58 years from now.
The protagonist V is a mercenary outlaw seeking one-of-a-kind implant that can give him immortality.
V’s character can be customized in cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and has an arsenal of weapons and choice for melee combat. He explores the massive city where the game unfolds as per the choices made.
The game is being developed by over 400 staff members working on the project, exceeding the staff that developed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
And it has John Wick
It was revealed that Hollywood action star Keanu Reeves is lending his persona through likeness and voice to a character in the game for which he has personally performed all motion capture for the role.
Keanu also appeared on the stage at E3 much to the delight of fans. However, the exact details on what kind of role the character depicted by Reeves is playing has not been revealed as yet.
For the fans
Played in the first-person perspective, Cyberpunk will allow fans to recreate the mercenary as per their liking with customization available for gender, hairstyles, face, body-type, body modifications, background, and clothing.
The clothing also influences the character’s interactions with non-player characters (NPCs).
The NPCs can also be made to engage with the protagonist V in romantic and sexual relationships.
Different choices, player’s outfit, appearance and actions will lead to different endings.
Did you know?
Cyberpunk 2077 was initially scheduled to launch as a multiplayer game, however later decisions from the R&D team gave the game single-player priority. The first-person perspective intends to enhance immersion more than a third-person view and will allow players to experience the heavy detailing given by developer in the open world.
The game will feature full nudity, which as per director Adam Badowski encapsulates the theme of transhumanism. Badowski said, “the body is no longer sacrum [sacred]; it’s profanum [profane]”.
The game allows players to decide the order in which the quests are partaken by the character in the quest system of the game.
Dedicated animation systems were remade to give more realistic lip syncing and muscle movement with improved motion capture in Cyberpunk 2077.
