A Lithuanian man boarded a plane and found nobody
What can be more pleasing than travelling in an Aeroplane alone? A Lithuanian man boarded a plane and found nobody. He was the only passenger on the Boeing 737-800.
Skirmantas Strimaitis, who was flying from capital Vilnius to the northern Italian city of Bergamo for a skiing holiday, on March 16 was in shock when he discovered he had the entire Boeing 737-800 himself.
He was the only passenger who boards the plane, which has a sitting capacity of 189, were five crew members and two pilots.
Skirmantas found the first sign of an unusual journey when he went to check in at the Vilnius International Airport and was told the crew were waiting to form him.
Strimaitis was informed that he was the only passenger on board after asking why, as he was by no means late.
It had charted the plane to fly a group home from Italy, and to avoid flying empty, one-way tickets were sold. Only one person bought one said by the Novaturas travel agency.
Strimaitis describes his experience as a “unique and unreal”. He said the crew seemed quite confused at first maybe it was a new experience for them as well.
Strimaitis also shared a picture of himself on board the deserted plane, which lasted around for two hours.
This is not the first case of passenger inadvertently getting the private plane experience.
Karon Grieve was the only passenger on board a Jet2 airlines flight from Glasgow to Crete in 2017. The Scottish author tweeted a picture of her experience, saying she “felt like a VIP”.
