What did Bryan Cranston say about the resemblance of his character in ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Your Honor’?
We all know that Bryan is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors we have in the industry. Be it his emotive performance in ‘Breaking Bad’ as Walter White, or the hardcore CIA officer in ‘Argo’, and now he is arousing the audience in the TV series ‘Your Honor’. But if you have watched ‘Breaking Bad’ before, you must have found an uncanny resemblance between Walter White and Michael Desiato. If you did, then you are not the only one.

In fact, Bryan was looking for a similar role to play. In a conversation with “Entertainment Tonight”, Bryan spoke about the similarities between Walter and Michael. He said,
“I always looked for damaged characters, I looked for characters that are basically good, but lost their way, perhaps, or have a fatal flaw that connected to their psyche. As long as we feel that the character often makes the right decision and tries to be a better person, I think that is what grabs the sentimentality of the audience”,
he further added.
What is the character which Bryan Cranston is portraying in ‘Your Honor’?
In Showtime’s television series ‘Your Honor’, Bryan is seen playing the character of a judge in New Orleans, named Michael Desiato. His character has to over and over again break the laws in order to cover up the crime of his son, who is guilty of a hit and run case. When speaking with “Entertainment Tonight” about the character Michael Desiato, Bryan said,
“As a parent, you would go to any length to save the life of your child. And that’s what really hooked me when Peter presented this story to me. That’s what creates the moral dilemma in this, is that a very noble, righteous person, a judge, in this case, is suddenly on a path of corruption and deceit and lying, and things that are so foreign to him and against his true nature. And I thought, ‘Oh, that’s a juicy role to play'”.
Well, whatever drew Bryan towards playing this role, we can say that he is doing complete justice to his character.
