In Season 2 Episode 22, ditched on his big day a young Sheldon watches that year’s Nobel Prize ceremony on TV, wondering about his future and, in a way, predicting his own Nobel.
We all are aware of the habits of Sheldon Cooper. He doesn’t like to be touched by other people, doesn’t like to be at crowded places and definitely suffers from Asperger syndrome and obsessive–compulsive disorder. In fact, he added Purell hand sanitizers in the welcome kits at his wedding celebrations.
He has a knack of making predictions. There’s the big prediction that has been trending over the past few months. That Sheldon predicted the Coronavirus pandemic 10 years prior to its outbreak? In fact, his soothsaying abilities started way back as a child, during the web series Young Sheldon, which revolves around the childhood of the character made legendary by Jim Parsons.
The famous virus from China prediction
In the first season of the series, we see a reporter delivering the news of a widespread virus from China hitting the states badly. It was then that little Sheldon decided to go to quarantine and wear gloves and masks but people called him crazy.

In an episode of the Big Bang Theory prequel, Young Sheldon titled as A Sneeze, Detention, and Sissy Spacek, Sheldon is convinced that people are going to die after a virus from China hits the nation. He was all prepped up after watching the news on the television. This led to the 9 year old genius wearing gloves, mask, skip classes with sneezing teachers and keep distance from everyone and of course, practicing quarantine in the garage. Quoting the reporter exactly, “Doctors say the strain, originating in China, is particularly severe. Children and the elderly are most at risk.’ Hearing this, Sheldon knew this isn’t a funny deal, no matter if people refused to believe him.

With the outbreak of Covid-19, Sheldon’s theory does not seem weird now. But not just that, since the epic reveal, a number of other TBBT predictions and easter eggs have been spotted. Among them is his own Nobel Prize during the last season 12 of The Big Bang Theory.
Predicting the end of The Big Bang Theory
So as it happened, the spin-off Young Sheldon was directly linked to TBBT and the famous scientist Sheldon Cooper winning the Nobel Prize in Physics in Season 12 of The Big Bang Theory. Shortly after, in Season 2 Episode 22 of Young Sheldon, the budding genius invites everyone from school to a Nobel Prize watch party. No one turns up.
Watch: Young Sheldon’s Nobel Prize revelation moment
After a fairly emotional moment with his mother, as emotional as the germaphobe could get, Sheldon sits down to watch the award ceremony on his TV set. In the background, an adult Sheldon reminisced how the moment had made him feel that it was his fate to stay a loner, like a neutrino, only with Physics. Surrounded by many but all by himself. The grown-up Sheldon, in Parson’s voice finds relief in the fact that his assumption turned out wrong. However, in that moment a Young Sheldon also indirectly predicts his life surrounded by neutrinos and other quantum particles, finally leading to the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on Super Asymmetry. Guess he wasn’t all wrong in that moment!
